Hello

I'm really new here but I was thinking, straining myself again :D How about a new pinned topic on the Main View page or maybe on the Newbie Forum, titled, "Introductions". It would be a starting place for new members to tell about themselves and their interest in John Wayne and his movies.

Best regards

Ron,

I want to welcome you to this great message board, one of a kind for a great American, John Wayne. Maybe you could give us a little information about your suggestion. If you look at the Newbie Section (http://www.dukewayne.com/index.php?showforum=17) of the message board you will see topics about Fan Geography (http://www.dukewayne.com/showthread.php?t=572), How Do You Became A John Wayne Fan (http://www.dukewayne.com/showthread.php?t=238), and Why Not Give Us A Little Personal Info (http://www.dukewayne.com/showthread.php?t=804). You can point and click on the underline topics and you can go to that topic.

Maybe you have other ideas that we didn't think of.

Again, welcome Wagon Driver

Cheers B)

Thanks for the welcome!

I had in mind a place strictly for new members to introduce themselves. The new member would make a title for their post, something like, "New Member", "Hello Everyone" or "Happy to be Here". The new member could say anything they wished to, to break the ice. From a simple hello to: I'm from such a place, my interest in John Wayne started when .... My handle was chosen because of...... I hope to collect all of John Wayne's movies, etc.

This would be followed by existing members posting a follow up saying, "Welcome to the forum", "Glad you've taken the plunge and become a member", "I hope you find your time here fun" etc.

It wouldn't be a necessity to post here before posting anywhere else. But it may be a persons first post and would introduce them to posting as well. In fact it could also be used by long standing members who may not have introduced themselves in the past. Or even if they have, it would make newer members aware of the senior members and where their interests are.

Thanks again for the welcome,
Best regards
Ron

Hi Wagon Driver

First of all I would like to add my own welcome to the board and with the ideas you have thrown in i hope you will stay and become a regular poster.

Your ideas seem to make sense and in line with what has been discussed.

Once again welcome and I hope you will enjoy yourself.

Regards

Arthur
