My great grandfather was John's bodyguard and acted in some of his movies, as well as Shirley Temple's. Does anyone know anything about this part of his life? I would love to own more JW movies and particularly sentimentally would be the ones with Grandpa in them. My uncle was a moron and missed the meeting he had set-up with John to talk about Grandpa and it was not many more years before John was gone.

Oh how funny, my 4 y.o. daughter decided to name the emoticons and with no idea what I was doing names this one :fear2: John. How silly.

Anyway, does anyone know how I can contact someone who would know? Grandpa was Syrian and spoke english and arabic. John called him camel jockey :huh: ... hehe. I could never learn the end of the story because Grandpa would get really into the story and lapse into Arabic. :D I hope someone can help me, mom and I have been looking for some time now.

Thanks, I was happy to find it! I do not know which movies grandpa was in, that is why I am here looking for some help. Grandpa's name was William Thomas. (Although before he came to America I think it was Naseem Thomi or Tomasi, or something.)

Jen; The few times that I was with The Duke I do not remember any BodyGuards but I was not out in public with Him but one time at the Orange County Airport in the late 1970s. And on location he all ways had people like Ward Bond,Victor McLaglen, Ben Johnson around Him, all very large men all over 6 feet tall!!!

I do remember that Pat Stacy his Sweetheart for the last 7 years of His life did say that some times when they were out to a Public event and there might be a chance that The Duke's Fans might Mob him he did have a Bodyguard, maybe this was your Great Grandfather it would be nice to think so.
