It was an award that John Wayne was given by a group of hippies in the late sixties. He went to it on an armoured tank at high noon.

I found that Duke appeared in Newsweek on January 28, 1974. This was concerning Duke's trip to Harvard University to accept his "Brass Balls Award." Duke did arrive on an armored personnel carrier. I haven't found the article yet, but thought you would be interested in the date of this.

That date would be correct as the film McQ(1974) was premiered at the event, but do you know how to locate quotes from the event I know a few but would be interested in finding out more, duke was even asked about womens lib.

There is actually quite few akward questions asked to the Duke about his image etc here but he handles it with style and wit. Does anyone have or knwo if this is available on DVD?

I would have liked to see the transcript of this meeting also, but don't have any idea how to get it. The only partial transcript I saw was in the book: Duke, A Love Story by Pat Stacy. I'll add them here for those who never saw them.

OK, lets see how out of step you are with kids of today. You can find some of the Dukes narratives by going to Kazaa and downloading what you want. If you don't know how to do it look for a teenager and have them show you how to download from Kazaa. Good hunting.

On behalf of all, I would like to welcome you to the John Wayne message board and say that we appreciate your comments.

As far as Kazaa goes, I have two teenagers in the house and a wife who is a computer geek as well, so I'm in fat city :D with respect to downloading things.
