My daughter is going to be married soon on the "Wild Goose", John Wayne's boat which is located in Newport Beach. I am looking for wav files of anything he may have said about young love, love relationships or positive comments to young couples.

Hi!
Haven't found any comments of the Duke's to youngsters... except an occasional "Get a haircut!" But that ain't what you're lookin for, is it...
Well, one poem the man himself wrote and I always liked is this one. Maybe it could fit this occasion, anyway:

"Tomorrow is the most important thing in life.
Comes Into Us at Midnight very clean.
It's perfect when it arrives
and it puts Itself in our hands.
It Hopes we have learned Something from Yesterday."

Unquote.
My Very Best to the Young couple and enjoy the day on the Wildgeese!

Several years ago I had the opportunity to attend a Christmas Party on the Wild Goose. What an experience. You can feel John Wayne on board. They had John Wayne Movies playing in the sitting room.

Howdy to everyone. This is a great site. I love the Duke. I
recieved a letter from him in 1976 while I was in basic training
at Lackland AFB. I made my pilgrimage to Bayshore Drive on
New Years Day, 1979. :D . I met his children in Carmel California
in 1987, as they toured with his stuff, and signing a litho of him.
What an honor. Take care all. My sign in name? Well, I told the Duke
in the letter I sent him that I could've played Kim Darby's role in
True Grit. I also wrote him a poem. He finished the letter wishing me
a good life, and said "it's people like you who make it all worthwhile".
I have the medal he was awarded, and I've carried with me in my travels
scap books I made when I was young.

:D :D
