I am branching out from (but still collecting) John Wayne films, television, and radio appearances, and getting into soundtracks from John Wayne films. I have about a half dozen or so, but would like to get more. Does anyone have any to trade? Or perhaps we could trade from some of my other John Wayne collection stuff? Let me know if there are any traders out there.

Try Filmscoremonthly.com and check out their CD store. If you haven't seen it already, they have the original soundtracks to MCQ, THE GREEN BERETS, THE COMMANCHEROS and THE UNDEFEATED.

Thanks Cole! I checked out the site, but I notice that it didn't have the one I wanted most, Rio Lobo. Seems that one is going to be hard to find. But they did have some I don't have, so guess where part of my paycheck is going!

Hi Bob

My copy is from Prometheus Records, Kon. Astridlaan 171, 2800 Mechelen, Belgium.
email:scq@pophost.eunet.be-www.soundtrackmag.com

It number 211 of a limited edition of 3000.

Don't know if this helps or not.

If you want the album as a memento these may have it. If yopu just want the disc for the music give me a shout.
On the same grounds list the albums you have and what you want I may be able to help.

Regards

Arthur.

Hi Arthur,
Although I would like to have to have the store bought soundtracks, I just can't keep up with buying them. Especially as we're raising six grandkids. I mainly want to listen to them. I really enjoy playing them as I'm going to and from work (100 mile round trip each day) as they do help pass the time while driving. I would be willing to swap burned copies (I know many don't like that idea, but its really the only way for a lot of us to get these).

What I am looking for, is really anything I don't already have. What I do have, however, are these CD's:
1. Hatari
2. Island in the Sky (narrated by John Wayne)
3. America, Why I Love Her
4. Shoot 'em ups: Music from the Classic Republic Westerns (contains some pieces of soundtracks from the Three Mesquiteers series)
5. The Sons of Katie Elder
6. How the West Was Won (2 disc CD set)
7. The Comancheros
8. The Searchers (this was copied from an LP to CD, of an album produced for The Max Steiner Music Society, and contains "The Searchers" and "Pursued" scores. The music was recorded "Free Form" which means the entire score as a single piece, and was recorded from the original tapes owned by Max Steiner)
9. True Grit (although the CD says, "Original Motion Picture Soundtrack", it really isn't. It contains the same musical pieces as the film, but arranged differently from the film. These pieces are more in the genre of modern jazz or pop.)
10. McLintock!
11. El Dorado
12. Rio Grande
13. The Alamo
14. The Cowboys
15. The Quiet Man
16. True Grit: Music from the Classic Films of John Wayne
17. Misc. Songs (This CD is homemade, and contains: The Searchers (by the Sons of the Pioneers), North to Alsaka (by Johnny Horton), My Rifle, My Pony, and Me (by Dean Martin & Ricky Nelson, intro by John Wayne), Rio Bravo (by Dean Martin), The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (by Gene Pitney), and three songs by John Wayne: I Have Faith, Walk With Him, & The Prayer. These three songs were produced by Michael Wayne in 1961. There was a fourth song in the series called The Trumpeter's Prayer, but it was never released.

I also have several radio programs, radio commercials, PSA's, sound bites, etc..., all on CD, all by John Wayne. Let me know what you think, and maybe we can do a little tradin'.

Hi Bob,

Sorry to be so late in replying but Ih have been busy. In the next few days I will gather my recordings together and compare them with your requirements. Certainly I have Rio Lobo, The Undefeated, The Searchers anda compilation including North To Alaska and The War Wagon.

In your case the 2 disc How The West Was Won sounds attractive. But I will get back to you pretty quick.

Scottie:
There is one that is made for a school band. It is True Grit. There are some others that I've notice but I just can't remember what they were. If I can recall I'll make a note and notify you.

I switch servers. :ohwell: The new one puts commercials on my websites unless I pickup the more expensive one. I decided that it wasn't worth the added cost. So sorry. If I decide that I want to go the extra then I'll put it up again.
