View Full Version : Hatari
General Sterling Price September 17th, 2005, 07:40 PM Just got back from Walmart, and wow...what a deal. I had been holding off on buying Hatari, just never got around to it. Much to my delight, I saw the NEW collectors edition by Paramount in the Discount $5.50 bin. It was the only one I could see still in there. This normally goes for $10, so looks like I got a deal...just wanted to share this in case any of you bypass the discount bins, might wanna take another look!
GSP
SXViper September 17th, 2005, 09:12 PM Thanks GSP. I already have it and if it wasn't for the "I gotta have it" factor I would probably saved a ton of money. Great price on a good film, note my avatar, hehe!!!
dukefan1 September 17th, 2005, 09:29 PM That's where I got mine, the $5.50 bargain bin at Wal Mart. I never pass that bin when I go there. Mark

I ain't gotta wait till the bargain basement for John Wayne, I look for movies I remember from a while ago that I want in my collection. Findin' a Duke film that I didn't have in there is iceing on the cake. Hatari wasn't in the very top of my must have DVD's and Duke made soooo many movies, ya gotta pace yourself and your wallet. Turned out, I enjoyed Hatari more this time around then I remembered it being. Don't dis my bargin bin, Pilgrim! :uhuh2: hee hee Mark
dukefan1 September 18th, 2005, 01:36 AM Ooops, forgot to address Senta's question. Wall Mart is a big chain of stores here in the States, Senta. I don't know if they branched out overseas as of yet, but no doubt they will. Their stores are like rabbits. They turn up everywhere you look nowadays. I never tried, but you might be able to look them up online. Mark
SXViper September 18th, 2005, 09:38 AM Yes you can get to them online. Not sure if they have international shipping or not. Here is the address, Walmart website (http://www.walmart.com) .

That's where I got mine too. Didn't have to wait, just couldn't find it anywhere else except Belle & Blade and they wanted $30 that I didn't have extra.

The Ringo Kid September 20th, 2005, 03:06 PM In 2000, I was on vacation in Germany & Switzerland and I do remember seeing a Wal-Mart there somewhere.
Also, I never pass up the bargain bins at Wal-Mart either and have come away with more than a few great bargains. I sure wish they would put the Errol Flynn Signature Collection in a bargain bin. :D
Colorado Bob, like you, I can't afford Belle & Blades prices and its sad because thay have alot of great stuff I would like to have.

You're right Ringo, they do have a lot of good stuff, but generally overpriced. If you look around though, sometimes you can find some great deals in some out of the way places. I've been collecting John Wayne stuff (mostly audio and video) for more years then I can remember, and some times there are jsut dry spells where you can't find anything. Other times you can't seem to keep with all the good deals.

I hear ya Colorado Bob. Especially now with Hurricane Rita edging it's way closer to the Texas coast, I can't even think of looking for anything. I guess at least if I do make it out in good order, that in about 2 weeks I will have 5 more classics to watch.
