Hi

This oater, was one of the earlier releases of the new almagmated Republic Studios.
This is one of my favourites.
Duke and his pal, are made redundant from the Pony Express,
and as a leaving gift, they are allowed to take some horses.
They set up their own stage line, but are given a ghost town as
a base, but it's not long before they secure a government contract
by winning a thrilling stagecoach race.
Ironically I have this film on VHS in a re-dubbed Colour verion,
the dubbing, of what seems to be someone else speaking Duke,
is awful, but it doesn't distract from a very enjoyable film.

Rating 6/10

I thought that ghost town was kind of neat, and I admired their Yankee ingenuity with the stage line and how they were able to gain the contracts for the mail, at the same time influencing the railroad to come through their town. And John Wayne even ended up with the girl in this one!

Hi all,
I received this film on DVD today and enjoyed it a lot. It was shown on our TV sometimes ago, but I unfortunatly missed it, becouse was not in the city and my brother whom I ask to record it, forget to do it. So I was always anxscios to see this movie and it proved my expectations.
Regards,
Senta

I think this is a really good movie in which Duke really starts to develop his mannerisms. I would actually take this movie ahead of Legend of the Lost or the Undefeated any day of the week.

What is the DVD version like Senta, is Dukes voice redubbed?

Double-feature DVD from Canada company Cascadia Entertaiment. The voice was his own in both movies. I bought this disc on Abebooks, they sometimes have DVDs and VHS on sale.

Keith we seem to have the same version on VHS, the version I have is colourised and Dukes voice is defently dubbed.

Incidentally does the DVD version contain the original soundtrack?

This is defently one B movie all John Wayne fans should see, its very good.

Robbie,

I don't have the DVD, but here's a post by Vera!

I think it's great, and you know Robbie,
they could have re-made this one in Duke's later life!!

An entertaining little B-Western with some wonderful stagecoach scenes. A fine mixture of Action, Humor, Romance and John Wayne.
