View Full Version : New Chat Room? CHANCE June 22nd, 2003, 09:28 AM Howdy Everyone I've just registered with the new chat room looks promising is there anyone who wants to talk? chester7777 June 23rd, 2003, 12:53 AM CHANCE, When you first log onto the message board, the first screen you're on shows all the different forums. That is the General Discussions page. If you scroll down you will see "Board Statistics". There, you can see who is online at the same time as you. If any members are online, my experience has been it is best to send them a PM (Private Message) to see if they would like to chat, and wait for a response. Some times, people sign off before they receive the PM, so don't take it personally if you don't get an answer right away. If you are chatting with someone, try to keep the board statistics open in a separate window, so you can go back and check if anybody else is on the board, who might like to chat. This has worked for us and we've had several chats, with different people. It's been fun. So far, not that many people seem to take advantage of the chat room, but that can change as more people become familiar with it. I'll be watching for you, and if I see you, I'll PM you for a chat :D . Chester P.S. For the time being, you might want to bookmark the chat room and add it to your list of favorites. Sometimes, finding the link can be a little tricky. Also, you might want to click the following link for more discussion of a chat room: http://www.dukewayne.com/index.php?act=ST&f=3&t=29 dukefan1 June 24th, 2003, 01:55 AM Funny, but I didn't know that we could pm each other. As for the Chat Room, I am sure that is a blast to meet and discuss Duke with others. I can't download the chat at this time because I am nursing a sick computer that barely gets me online. But when I get a new one, I will sigh up for the chat. Thanks for the info, chester. dukefan1. chester7777 June 24th, 2003, 02:07 AM You actually don't have to download anything, just click on the link: http://www.dukewayne.com/chat/ You do have to register the first time you use it, but that is easy, just use the same info as the message board. Hope to see you there sometime! Chester dukefan1 June 24th, 2003, 02:32 AM Thanks chester. I will look into it and maybe catch you or another fan one day. dukefan1 BrianB July 2nd, 2003, 03:30 AM New to the site. If you are wondering how come I have so many postings I'm doing a 12 hour shift watching a closed out casino. but I see now how to get to the chat and also how to see if anyone is here. Brian Tulalip Wa AEC23 July 2nd, 2003, 10:40 AM Welcome to the site, Brian. It's always good to have new fans. I look forward to reading your postings. Brian Tulalip Wa Brian, When I come back to the board, I read from the bottom up (or in today's case, from page 4 forward :) ). Anyway, because of that, I am just now reading your answer to my question. Had I read all the way to the top of the board . . . . Anyway, I'll be watching for you, and perhaps we can chat some time. Chester BrianB July 3rd, 2003, 01:06 PM tried the chatroom I must be doing something wrong Brian Tulalip Wa chester7777 July 3rd, 2003, 02:43 PM Do you think you are doing something wrong because you get there and nobody else is there? Being signed in on the message board does not automatically sign someone in for the chat room, that is a separate thing. Go back through the last few posts on this thread again, to check your procedure. I haven't had time to chat the past few days, but if I see you around tonight, maybe then . . . Chester Monique July 10th, 2003, 05:19 AM Hello, Is their anyway to let a fellow member know to join you in the Chat Room? Monique   chester7777 July 10th, 2003, 05:57 AM Monique, Go back to my Jun 22nd post on this thread, that will fill you in. First check Board Statistics at the bottom of General Discussions, to see who is on line, Then, send them a PM (providing you want to chat with them) If they are not online, send an e-mail to set up a time. Having the Chat room opened in a separate window helps speed things up. Chester B) |
