Next year will be the 100th Anniversary of Duke's birth is anything being planned to commemorate this date.

I know some pilgrims are going to Monument Valley!!!

I am headed to AZ next month and want to make a trip to monument valley guess I will celebrate his 99th. My mom and sister live in Springerville, and several years ago my husband and I stayed in the John Wayne Suite in a local motel for our anniversary. It was so cool. I try to go to AZ at least once a year so who knows I might make it next year just never sure when. My high school is planning a 35th reunion in 07 so will probably go then whenever that is. I just try to get something Duke related on each of my trips.

I was in Arizona two weeks ago. Didn't make it too far away from Phoenix, but did venture out to the supersititions, and up to Wickenburg. GSP

I will probably do something locally, such as renting a cabin in an old western town for his 100th, but one day I would like to take a trip to AZ and monument valley.

I was born in Edmonton and worked in Drayton Valley for Wardin Well Services ( about 26 years ago). What town will you be looking at to rent a Cabin IHW ? Depending on time of year I may be able to grab a relief driver ( one of our kids perhaps) and join you. I do not want this suggestion to be an imposition but if Monument isn't in the cards for you then a local gathering might be good. Your call on that one. murray

Duke's 26 Bar Ranch is only about 5 Miles South of Springerville, Arizona and you and your Husband should come on down and see Duke's Ranch and stay in Duke's Main Ranch House and Sleep in His Big Bed that He used when He was at His Ranch. :) It is now a Bed and Breakfast and soon to be a Musuem!!! :jump:

Let me know when You are going to be in Springerville and 26 Bar Rose and I will give You the Grand Tour of the Ranch. :rolleyes:
