Thanks for the heads up. I assume you are talking about next Wednesday? As I was at the monthly WW2 Symposium at the historical society this past Wednesday and I would have missed it.

It was a good show. Some of the clips of behind the camara were great to see. Though I didn't really learn anything I didn't already hear about, it was quite enjoyable. I'll tell you one thing though, the more I learn about John Ford, I don't understand how the man never got murdered  The way he treated those who cared about him is very strange. After reading Maureen O'Hara's book, I don't know how she even managed to keep being his friend. Must have been a trial to remain friendly and loyal to him all those years. But many did.

Dang it all! I started taping it, and halfway though the tape stopped recording so I only got to watch part of it. What I did see was great! Does anyone know if PBS is selling the tape or DVD? Or, if it will be on again?
Best,
Colorado Bob

At the end of the show, they said you could buy the show on DVD for $29.00 (or something near that) on their website. Kind of expensive, but I'm sure we've all been a little guilty of over-spending on a Duke related item we just had to have ;)

I have not been able to find on the PBS website if the episode is for sale yet. I missed the airing of it and I forgot to set the VCR up to tape it so I haven't seen it yet either.

Incidentally, if you go to the American Master page on www.PBS.org, then go to the John ford/John Wayne page for the American Masters. On the right hand side it lists some links and one of them is too www.jwayne.com. Which you all know has a link to our message board!! So we kind of got alittle free advertising with the airing of the episode. Cool !!!

Wonderful program. I enjoyed all the behind the scenes footage of Wayne and Ford. They were truly an amazing combination of talent

Hey, gang! I was looking around on ebay and found a copy of this show. There is only a day and a few hours left and it is only up to $5.50 at this moment. So, if ya want it, rush over there and bid on it. Here is the link, PBS DVD (http://cgi.ebay.com/AMERICAN-MASTERS-PBS-EMMY-2DVD-SET-BOB-DYLAN-JOHN-WAYNE_W0QQitemZ9139215514QQcategoryZ617QQtcZphotoQ QrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#imTop)

Well I've searched PBS and I can't find the show anywhere. I think I'm gonna have to call PBS or something. From the little bit I did see, it looked to be a great documentary. If I come up with anything, I'll let y'all know.
Best to all,
Colorado Bob

Colorado Bob and all interesed,

I think that it will be released after the big new box set with the movies "The Searchers", "Stagecoach", "Fort Apache", ect.......... The PBS documentary is on the "Stagecoach" Special Edition DVD. I think they want to wait till its released through the box set before ruining the experience prematurely. Then again I could be wrong, these are just my thoughts.

By the way, I didn't win the DVD on EBay. Still looking though.
