My guess is that by now, they have deteriorated and might be hard to light, if you could even find them.

Actually I think if they were kept in a humidor they might age quit nicely.

As for the brand, that might be a mystery that only Bill on this board might be able to reveal.

The ones that I saw Duke with at Wyntoon were small and about 5" long and were Sweet and came in package and you could buy them at the store. :D

I bummed one from Him down by the River, they did not like smoking at Wyntoon because Bill Hearst was afraid of Fire at the Ranch, :fear2: and when I got home I bought a Package and said to myself, that if they were good enough for Duke they were fine for me. Then I gave them up.

I remember what they looked like and when I go to the Store I will find out what they are called. :)

They sound like Swisher Sweet's Bill. You can get them anywhere. Back in my Navy days we would have them while enjoying a few adult beverages. I too have not had one in quit awhile, actually it has been about 14-15 years since I had one.

Viper,

That is what they were, "Swisher Sweet's" and I found them at the local store and got two packs for the Cowboys at the Ranch to have after they get off work at night.

I might even try one myself after all these years! :fear2:

Hello All
Good one Chester hunidor or not the presmoked kind are not the best. I suppose if a desperate nicotine fit induced desire to smoke, was combined with only buts, being available, then things could be worse then to have a but once smoked by John Wayne. Truth be told I'm not sure if even his past association with it would improve the experience appreciably. It's interesting Chilibill that there was no smoking at Wyntoon due to concern about fire. Did that extend to candles and the fireplace as well. personal I find any details about that environment of interest. The fact that Duke would go to the River to accommodate his host is a small thing but it fleshes out a profile of the man. Anything you ever want to share may be of interest to others for a variety of reasons. That is part of the appeal of Monument Valley, thinking that some details may be brought forward. I have had Swisher Sweets and they are reasonable, Captain Black Sweets are also ok. murray ^_^ :jump:
