Interesting item on ebay. Does anyone know anything about its background and is
available to buy elsewhere?

I would suspect more will turn up this year.

DakotaSurfer is bidding on it already or else I was going to. I will defer to the man from the Dakota's and not get into a bidding war. Hopefully more will turn up as I would like to get my hands on one as well.

Thanks for the info... put my bid in. I can't find it listed anywhere. I did find this that looks nice: Stained Glass Panorama (http://www.collectiblestoday.com/ct/product/prdid-102382001.jsp#)

They have a bunch of memorabilia here:

John Wayne Memorabilia (http://www.celebritygift.com/)

Hi SXViper

Now he can tell us what the magazine is like? LOL

I reckon Ebay is like buses there are always more round the corner.

Didn't know you wanted to bid on it.... and the description says it was some kind of trade show hand-out. I searched for them and couldn't find them. Wonder if the seller would tell us who handed them out?

The problem with eBay is they allow members to snipe... auto-bid at the last second. It doesn't look very thick, I could scan pages for posting to let you see them. I have to win first though. Plus I just re-read the auction... it's only 12 pages.

Hi Dakota

At least you have taken out two bidders.

Yes, the 12 pages was the deciding point for me. I wouldnt minf the book alone but the other items didnt draw me.

All the best and hope you win

I'm sure the bandana was just something extra they threw in the gift bag. There will be a load of 100 years memorabilia especially at the different celebrations. I just wish the auction had a Buy-It-Now price.

Did you guys happen to notice all the 100 year Zippo lighters on EBay? They look all right, I don't smoke but might be interested if the price was right.

The cheapest one I found was this Buy-It-Now item: http://cgi.ebay.com/Zippo-John-Wayne-Silhouette-Lighter-Low-Ship-21120_W0QQitemZ300070978949QQihZ020QQcategoryZ7099 4QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

The cheapest 100 year lighter I found was this one... http://cgi.ebay.com/Zippo-Lighter-100-Yrs-of-John-Wayne-Collectors-Edition_W0QQitemZ130069127804QQihZ003QQcategoryZ95 2QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting

Zippo will find a excuse to make a lighter for any occasion with all the smokers out there. I quit in 1991 so doesn't do me any good but I bought several Zippo's when I was in the Navy.

Well they are more expensive on the Zippo site. So, at $30-$40 they are a good price if people want to pay that much. Here is the link to Zippo's site.

Looks like I won the book plus the seller threw some other stuff into the auction at the last minute. I'll share images as long as it fits my scanner.

Got the bag, book, bandana, brochure and (7) 2007 "The Duke" promo scratch lottery tickets. The sellers threw some extra things in at the last minute. The booklet is really nice. Not really a lot to read but a nice 100th year booklet. I'll post images when I'm done scanning.

FYI: All the images are links, click to view the full sized images.
If you look above you might find the link to the auction. It came in a burlap bag that had this emblem on it:

Inside the bag it came with a brochure that explains the 100th Anniversary scratch lottery tickets being sold in Rhode Island and Kansas.
Here is the brochure and some sample tickets:

And here is the booklet that was included in the auction... the main reason for bidding...

Wow, DS, I'd have to say you really scored on that auction! Thanks for scanning the book and the tickets - I'm jealous . . . . There's nothing like what you got on ebay right now, but I'd say you got some pretty neat stuff. I wonder if California will have John Wayne lottery tickets.

Thanks for posting the pictures of your book.

It looks like Wayne Enterprises is on board for his 100th b-day. Now if they could just get the website up and running.

Many thanks, DakotaSurfer, for sharing that with us. I loved the booklet. I'll have to keep my eye out for another auction like that one. Great deal you got!
