What ever became of the chat room? Haven't heard anything since the poll, and would love to see this happen. There's been no response since February 21.

When I sign on, I have gotten into the habit of looking at the bottom of the window, where it shows who is online at the same time. Occasionally, there is someone on with whom I'd enjoy having a short chat. So, yes, I would like to chat sometimes. I have occasionally been on the same time as smokey, even though we're something like 18 hours apart. We've tried to send a Private Message, but it doesn't seem as responsive, but maybe I'm not using it correctly, either.

It sounds like a good idea but there are several problems with it they are as follows

1. If it is implemented it will probably mean the end of the messageboard.
2. It is unlikey due to different time zones that many of us will be on at the same time.

Personally I think that the messageboard is very good and I feel that the makers of this website should add a little more content etc relating to John Wayne on the web site as it is a little bare although at the same time it is very good.

Ok, so now that we have a chat room, when is the best time to schedule a group chat??

Please take into consideration that many members of the forum are from around the world. Some suggested that we have a weekly chat on Saturday evenings.

Any suggestions on what time on Saturday (if Saturday at all) ??

Well, I noticed that Hondo was on at the same time I was last night, and we got to chat for a little bit, and it was great. I was wondering, is there any other way of accessing the chat room besides using the link in your post in this forum? That's how I got to it, but wondered if there is a link that I am missing that is more readily available?

You can look at my signature below my post and "right click" on the chat link and choose "Add to Favorites" in the popup menu. That will add it to your browsers favorites section.

I may add a link to the chat room in a more visable spot on the forum soon, and even a link on the jwayne.com site too.

Here's the lowdown on times between the US and Australia.

When it is 6 PM (Pacific Time) Saturday, it will be 11 AM Sunday your time. So we will be in the chatroom from 11 AM to 2 PM your time on Sunday.

Well, it seems that Saturday night is not a particularly good time to chat, as we had a small turnout. However, Robbie and I had a good time, and learned more about each other, so that was positive.

Maybe it was just the particular weekend. It seems it was quiet on the message board as well.

pull up the chat room id the www. thing once it is up click on favorites when favorites pull down menu comes up click on add and this should add the chat room to your list of fav sites. hope this helps you out if you have any problems let me know and i will see if i can help you.

I was talking to Brian about that the other day. To make the chat room a success, I would like to ask the moderatros to set up a date which might be convenient for everybody (on a Saturday or Sunday, perhaps), and at a time which considers the different time zones, if possible - from the US to the United Kingdom, Europe and Australia.

Robbie (and anybody else who wants to chat),

The chat room is always "in commission" and is open 24/7 for all to enjoy! It's difficult to find a time that meets the needs of world wide users, so just see who's online when you are, and invite them to chat via PM (Private Message). That's what we do. We also find that it's more convenient to open the chat room in a separate window from the message board, so you can go back and forth as needed (and to watch for more people to invite to join you). We have both the chat room and the message board on our Favorites list (or might be called 'bookmarks', depending on the browser you're using) so it's quick and easy to get there.

We'll be watching for you!
