Hello All,

As you can see, this is my first post. Let me start off by offering many thanks to those responsible for this wonderful site. You people deserve a pat on the back. Job Well Done!

A little background information, I was born and raised in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky, county of Floyd. Im 23 years old and surveying is my profession. It doesnt take much to make me happy, bluegrass music, Kentucky Wildcat Basketball or any John Wayne movie will do. Ive been blessed to have met the woman of my dreams, she loves all of the above, plus her mom is Old Regular Baptist. I do know if its the same in other parts of the world, but around here Old Regular women can cook anything! My fiance (sp) is no exception, squirrel, pheasent, fish it doesnt matter it all taste great. I wasnt able to meet her dad as he passed away when she was 13, but because of him she started watching John Wayne. When we started dating I was amazed to see all the John Wayne movies she had. It was a sign from heaven. :) Anyway enough about me.

I have a bunch of John Wayne movies on tape but I would like to upgrade to dvd. I have found alot of his movies in dvd all over the internet but im afraid some maybe copied or of bad quality. What should I look for? How do I know if it is original?

I bought my last VHS of John Wayne last weekend. My fiance and I went to a flea market and a guy had all kinds of John Wayne movies. I finally found my favorite movie, Mclintock! I was so excited I couldnt hardly stand myself. We got home and I put the video in, and all of sudden the last 15 minutes of the movie was cut off. This broke my heart! After visting this site I found out that it was more than likely a copy or realeased by Goodtime Production. Any info on when we can expect this to be released?

Dang, time flies when your having fun. Gotta get back to work.

Any of you that have some John Wayne movies for sale let me know, I might be interested.

Later,

Todd

Todd,
First of all welcome to this sight. Walmart.com has about 64 quality John Wayne DVD's on their website. Their is another, and it has a link in one of the postings and they have about 66 quality John Wayne DVD's on their site. Just start reading threw the postings, I know there is alot of them. But you will find alot of the information that you want on these postings. Once again welcome to the sight.

Monique ;)

gw,

I am also from KY. I live and breathe UK basketball and JW movies. Do you post on any UK boards? Walmart has been reducing the prices on some DVD's. I just bought MClintock for 5.88. My father in law just bought several 1 hr long JW movies and Angel and the Badman for 5.88. Good deals.

Welcome aboard and glad to have ya here! This is the place to ask questions or help with answers.

As far as DVDs are concerned, I understand your problem.
First I would like to say, becareful of online auctions when buying the movies. Some are copies and it is hard to tell which are and are not bootleg.
With this in mind, I have a website that I have that helps with this problem. I let everyone know what is out on either DVD or VHS. I keep it updated when new information comes along. This can be your guide to finding movies on DVD for you. The link is John Wayne Movie List (http://www.angelfire.com/zine/timetraveler/johnwayne.html). Once you know what is out on DVD, then you can try to find the movies on different auction sites or online. One other website I would highly reccommend is DVD Price Search (http://www.dvdpricesearch.com/cgi-bin/dvdhtml2). They offer discounts and coupons for a lot of online DVD stores. The site will also let you know whats on sale and where. If you put in a movie title or actor's name, it will tell you the prices of the movie at different websites so you can find the best bargin. Their database includes 22+ DVD websites stores. It's worth a look. B)

Until next time,

gw,

I'm from Munfordville in Hart Co. It's about halfway between Bowling Green and Elizabethtown. I post on WildcatFaithful, but not too often. I post on the Rivals network (WildcatChat).
