Hey everyone...


I remember seeing a John Wayne movie a while back and I want to know the title. It is black and white, and John Wayne is the foreman of some kind of mine, or railroad going through a mountain. His wife wants to leave and he keeps saying they will leave soon, but there is always something stopping them. I did not finish the movie, so I can't tell you the end. Sorry. He was also a real **** to her most of the time. Anyone know this one???

If memory serves me correctly, the movie to which you are referring is Tycoon, and the project is a railroad tunnel.

I think that is the 1947 movie Tycoon. Lorrine Day plays Duke's wife. By the way, she was the real life wife of baseball manager Leo Durosher (sp?).

Araner, you are right, the movie is Tycoon, it is a color movie shot in Lone Pine , Ca 1947. They are supposed to be in the Andes in Peru.The
beautiful Sierra Nevadas do a good job as the Andes, and the Alabama Hills did the rest.
