Why Chisum, good question. From beginning to end I think it is really done well. Fade in John Chisum, Fade out John Chisum.I thought Young guns and Young Guns II glorified Billy the Kid. In Chisum John Wayne and Ben Johnson (Pepper) tried to make him think.
The Duke has made alot better westerns. Hondo and Rio Bravo I think were his best. El Dorado, War Wagon, Cahill, Big Jake were tops. Undefeated was ok, but the duke with those sideburns really were sexy.
The Cowboys was great but I hate Bruce Dearn.
The Searchers is one of my all time favorites along with Red River.
And if I'm in the Army mood I go with Fort Apache, She Wore a Yellow Ribbon, Rio Grande, and the Horse Soidiers. The acting of the supporting cast makes me ill in Rio Lobo.
As for the War Wagon.that was the first John Wayne movie I ever did see. It has a place in my heart.
The Sons of Katie Elder was very good, but thats all they play on TV.
True Grit and Rooster Cagburn have a warm place in my heart. And with the Shootist I start crying when the movie begins.
Hatari/and McLintock! I can laugh all I want. And with the Quietman I want too change my name to Mary Kate.
No Hondo, Chisum is my favorite, and I also love The Train Robbers. Not so much the plot..just listen to Ben Johnson explain to Ann Margret about the duke (Lain)

It is definitely NOT necessary to download anything AOL in order to view Monique's page. Just clicking on her link should take you directly to it. I don't have anything AOL on my computer, and I had no problem.

thanks for the info have just done it and got there eventually as my machine is running oh so slowly tonight. monquie it is a good site keep it going some wonderful photos there, rice one granny(way to go) keep it up.
