Wanted to wish all of you a "Happy Father's Day" by sharing a poem I wrote years ago for the only Father I have known personally.

"FATHER'S GIRL"


I WISH I WERE BACK IN HEAVEN
WITH MY FATHER WAY UP ON HIGH
THEN I'D NEVER BE SAD OR MAD
OR FEEL LIKE I WANT TO DIE

BUT I KNOW THAT HE'S ALWAYS WITH ME
EACH HOUR OF EVERY DAY
BECAUSE OF THE SWEET THINGS HE WHISPERS
WHEN I KNEEL DOWN AND BEGIN TO PRAY

HE'S MY SPECIAL FRIEND THAT LISTENS
AND A FATHER WHO REALLY FORGIVES
IN MY HEART HE'LL FOREVER HOLD HIS PLACE
AND IT'S MY TESTIMONY HE ETERNALLY LIVES

YOU CAN TELL BY MY WORDS HOW I LOVE HIM
I AM TRULY "MY FATHER'S GIRL"
AND I HOPE THAT SOON HE'LL RETURN FOR ME
TO TAKE ME UP THROUGH THE CLOUDS IN A WHIRL....

Thank you so much for sharing that with us, Cindyrella. It really touches the heart. I wrote a poem for my mother on Mother's Day years ago and she still cherishes it.

A Happy Father's Day to all the Daddies on the site. Let's all hope we don't get any more ties or aftershave :wink_smile: hee hee.

Well, this weekend I've had two of my three (and their kids) visit so all in all, it's been enjoyable.

I've been getting messages from my kids all morning (they're scattered all over the country), and it sure makes me feel good to know that even over all the miles and years they still think of me. So, Happy Father's Day to all you Dads out there, I hope you have a great one.
