Wondering of there was ever a record(s) (CD) made of the main themes from JW's movies, such as, the sons of Katie Elder, or any of Rio XXXX movies. If so, how can I get a copy??? If not, why not??? just wondering

First I would like to welcome you the board.

If you look farther down on the board you will see "Theme Music" posted by "Hondo Duke Lane"

Hondo has done a great job of writting down the composer's of many of the music themes to John Wayne movies. :P

With the help of others posting on here and Hondo replying to your post you should be able to look up what you want to find on the internet B)

Once again welcome to the message board

We have a CD entitled "True Grit - Music from the Classic Films of JOHN WAYNE". It includes music from Stagecoach, The Quiet Man, The High and the Mighty, How the West Was Won, The Longest Day, The Searchers, Hatari, The Alamo, The Sons of Katie Elder, In Harm's Way, She Wore A Yellow Ribbon, The Cowboys, and of course, True Grit.

It has a total run time of 72 minutes.

The music is performed by The City of Prague Philharmonic, conducted by Paul Bateman, and the inner sleeve (the one that comes out of the lid that opens) is actually a booklet with information on the different pieces.

I'm pretty sure we got it from Amazon.com.

Hey, I was browsing some other John Wayne web sites this evening, and noticed that on this one ( http://www.jwaynefan.com/ ), if you scroll down the page about a quarter of the way down, it offers several CDs of soundtracks from JW's movies.

If I find anything else, I'll post it here.

There are many, many, records with the soundtracks of JW movies. Try eBay and be smart when you shop. I am sure you will find what you are looking for.

I have a few of the John Wayne movie soundtracks. Currently I am hooking up my DVD player to my computer so I can record some of the soundtracks off the DVDs. I'm doing this so I can get the harder to find themes like "They Were Expendable" and such. Then I'll put them on a CD-R disc.
