I was in Best Buy today looking at a product that I will in the future, own. I decided to cruise through the aisles that had the DvDs on them and found something that might be of interest to folks here.

First off, what I need to know is, has anyone here ever bought any movies that came from: Echo Bridge Home Entertainment? Their website addy is: www.echobridgehe.com (http://www.echobridgehe.com)

I've never heard of them before and was wondering if they were another in the business of churning out releases of movies that are most likely not restored. Such as that comes from crappy companies like Good Times, and Alpha Video.

What I saw that cought my eye was a boxed set of I think 12 or so Hopalong Cassidy Westerns for about $20 bucks.

If anyone knows anything about this company, please let me know.

Please disregard the above post. I went to their website and recognized many titles that I have seen being sold at a DvD resale shop here in town, and do recognize that all the titles I saw were of VERY low quality.

First off, they were once known as Platinum Disc Coproration. And they were my introduction to the Lone Star Westerns, and I was pleased with the quality of 9/10 of those. While not the best quality they were good enough for my needs.

As for that Hoppy set, Best Buy was over charging by 10 - 12 bucks.

And finally thank you for bringing that set to my attention. By the way should you come across any more B-Western sets let me know. I love those .

Hi Lt.B, Thanks for your input. I did not know that they used to be the Platinum Disc Corp? I actually have several DvDs that came from there. I don't remember which ones but, I will admit, they all seem to be pretty good copies. The ones I saw at that resale shop-you could tell these were cheap by handling them--or at least, the packaging on all of them was very cheap and generic looking.

I kinda figured that Best Buy was over-charging on those. I had not had time to look for them at DDDVD.com but plan to look. I was interested in these as I have never seen any Hopalong Cassidy films. The titles certainly sounded good though.

If I find more sets, ill definately let you know.

Ringo, I have never heard of Echo Bridge before, but I do have an eight disc Hoppy collection from Platinum Disc Corp. There are five movies on each disc, and the quality is excellent. They are digitally restored directly from prints in the U.S. Television Office. Here are the links from where I bought them from on Amazon:

Thank you EJ  and thank you Vera  I might give them a chance and buy something. I have never seen any Hopalong Cassidy movies before and would like to.

EJ, thanks for the links. These I saw seem to be different somehow than those from teh Echo Bridge website. I hope these are not public domain movies?
