Did anyone see the eclipse?

I tried my hand at taking some night photos, it was a little more than my camera could handle, but I got a few nice pic's... Here's one...

I'm usually up around 3-4 a. m. getting ready for work, but the clouds were so thick this morning I couldn't have seen it if I tried. Nice pic though.

Nice picture  I could not see the eclipse if I tried--too many low clouds. I do try to see the meteor showers from time to time though. Recently we had one and you could see a meteor zoom by at the rate of about 2 per minute. It was cool, some burned green, some blue but mostly burned white. I know that that has to do with certain minerals and such. It almost looked like somehting you would expect to see in Star Wars.

Anyway, I think it's called the: Leonid Meteor Showers - or something like that?

erthomp,

Nice pictures! About what time did you take that one? Did you stay up for the whole thing?

I confess, I slept SOUNDLY through it. I thought about staying up late, or getting up around 3:45, but my day today was such that I decided not to.

Certainly the weather conditions last night were perfect around here for observing a lunar eclipse.

I took that photo around 3am.

Nope I didn't stay up for the whole thing. I set my alarm and got up around 2:30 took a few pics and then went back to bed. Then got up at 5:30 with my oldest daughter as she got ready for school, back to bed for a bit then up at 7:30 with the other three as they got ready for school. Man was I tired yesterday... anyway here's another pic...
