I wanted to say that I am back, and have observed some things that have occurred since my departure back at the end of July. First of all it's good to be back here with the sane and good friends here. I miss being here and missed a lot. I went to my business convention the first few days of August, and upon returning home, I traveled around with my business. I focused on my business and didn't come here for a period of time. It wasn't because I was upset with anything here but I was just busy and tried to do what I needed to do.
I talked with some of you here about how things were going and I just wanted to see if anything was going on here. I have heard that I resigned, had it with Kevin and the moderators of things going on around here and migrated to another site. I also heard that I quit this message board because this place just didn't have the same atmosphere like it did a few years ago. I heard that I started my own site in competition here. I heard a lot of things. Let me say that nothing here could be further from the truth. I have admiration for what Kevin has done here. I support him 100% and believe in his vision here at this board. I haven't been to the official John Wayne site or IMBD. Nothing personal, but I only have so much time right now, and I want to spend it here (I do have a lot of catching up to do right now). The only way you are going to get rid of me is either Kevin suspending me from here, me dying, or this board folding. Even if I loose my moderation power, I will still be here reading. posting and chatting. You can bank on that.
I don't know who is spreading the rumours about me and I don't really care. But you don't speak for me, and I'd appreciate it very much if you will stop. I heard also that you are doing the same to RESEAR. I'd advise you to stop talking about him. He don't take too kindly to spreading rumours about him. If you have an axe to grind, you better take it to someone else.
I want to assure you, my friends that I am here to stay, and couldn't be happier to be here. Yes, this message board has changed since I came here in January 2003. Yes, some people left with their feelings hurt. Some moved on. Others did whatever, but we have so many new friends here and I have enjoyed having them here just as much if not more. Itdo (Roland) is a good man, and he left because of something that was said here a few years ago. I regret him leaving, but he is welcome to come back anytime and I will be the first to greet him when he does, but that is up to him. As for the others who left, I can't say why, but life does get in the way at times. We had a person who is on the mission's field that was here in 2003. He told us that he would be gone for a few years on the missions field but plans to come back. I look forward to his return. I don't know why people come and go. I just know that they are free to do so. That's alright with me.
We do set pretty high standards and we should set appropriate behavior as adults. We do have children coming here to the board (I didn't say, childish behavior). We also (with members wanting this) moderate topics that stay on topic. This has been a challenge for me because I tend to get off topic myself, but we (moderators) are working to make this so. We also don't want to get into a shouting match here. This message board is successful because of you, and we want to continue to make it so. You are entitled to your opinions here, but smearing other people or John Wayne is not tolerated. You can do that at IMBD if you want, but not here, and we will act upon that. If you don't like it you may leave.
The bottom line is this, if John Wayne won't do it, we won't either.
I love this place and the people here. I love John Wayne! He's the example I want my children, etc. to live their lives. I have learned so much here, and want to continue that education. I have met so many new friends from around the world. I would have never met you if it wasn't for Duke. If I do leave (unless I die) I will inform someone here. I hope I cleared up any misconception that has been displayed here and the other sites.
