Deborah Kerr passed today.

May she rest in peace.

Here's the story.

And her thoughts on the Duke:

"He's a warm, kind-hearted, loving, generous, intellectual genius."

I always did like Deborah Kerr, and had a crush on her because of the movie: Heaven Knows Mr. Allison. We lost another classy Lady :-((

Rest in Peace Deborah.

What a grand lady who suffered greatly the last few years of her life. She suffered from Parkinson's Disease. And I heard she was bed ridden upon her death. Lived for 87 years.

She suffers no more. I guess she is most famous for The King And I.

Cheers

I heard about both Deborah Kerr and Joey Bishop this afternoon on the news while driving home from work.

I remember her most in The King and I and An Affair to Remember.

A whole generation of stars is becoming smaller and smaller with the death of each one.

May she rest in peace.

Hi

I always liked Deborah Kerr, and despite the fact that she was born in Scotland many thought of her as typically English.

An Affair to Remember was a thoroughly enjoyable film, and the Cary Grant role possibly a part that John Wayne would have played well. The King and I was also enjoyable as well.

RIP

You can count us among that number. We had no idea she was born in Scotland, and definitely thought she was English.

I'd have to disagree with you on this. An Affair to Remember WAS a thoroughly enjoyable film. However, as much as I like John Wayne, I don't see him in the Cary Grant role in that movie. Grant has a more debonair style that whisks the women (inlcuding my Mrs.) off their feet. Duke is manly and masculine, but would have been like a bull in a china shop in that movie - IMHO, that is.

Hi Jim

Probably you're right but Duke could be suave and debonair too, I just can't for the life of me think for a moment what pictures he did it in, possibly I Married A Woman?

Regards

Arthur
