I was just scrolling around the internet and found there's this
guy on Broadway hes been starring in Hairspray and before that footloose. There is this rumour he's one of Duke's grandsons. I thought no, can't be then I pull up a publicity photo and to me this guy looks just like Duke circa 1930's
Big trail. The only information on him is he was born in california
in 1978. Anyone have any info?

Here's an article regarding Matthew Morrison. There's a
picture with it as he was reading for the lead in the broadway
production of Tarzan. What do you think any family resemblance?

Both Mr. and Mrs. Chester think there is a striking resemblance to the young John Wayne! What do you think, Monique? You are a real admirer of the Duke at a young age.

hi to one and all,
after looking at the photo of matthew morrison i would have to say that the shape of his head is wrong in it is slightly longer than the dukes and it is slightly narrower than the dukes was at about the same age. but take away the curly hair and the eyes are the same so he could be related taking into considerstion that he could come from a different branch of the morrison family tree.

Don't know about this Morrison in particular, but the Morrisons certainly stayed active in the acting business:
Did you know that the nemesis of Rocky Balboa, in No. Five of the Rocky series, was played by Tommy Morrison, grandnephew of John Wayne? Sad to hear he's very sick. The Stallone film was too bad to trigger him to better roles, unfortunately.
Here's the bio:
He's a heavyweight professional boxer from Jay, Oklahoma, who made national news Thursday, Feb. 15, 1996, when he announced that he is HIV positive. He was suspended from worldwide boxing when he tested positive prior to a boxing match against Arthur Weathers in Las Vegas. He said he plans to pursue AIDS awreness activities.
He won the WBO Boxing Championship from George Foreman in 1993. He lost the championship to Michael Bennt.
Currently lives in Sparta, Tennessee, where he is writing an auto-biography.

Your kidding itdo,
I have relatives in Sparta, TN. A true bloodline of John Wayne in the deep south?
Could you draw us a tree line of this relation to Duke? Love to hear about that. Might have to go there and look up this person.
Saw the Rocky flop, and didn't think much of it, but it wasn't because of the actors, but the story line. The rumour is a sixth Rocky installment is in the works. Maybe they should let it die a quiet death, but whatever. I was waiting for a Rocky vrs. Rambo movie, but only a wishful thinking.
Cheers, Hondo B)

Couldn't draw a tree line - I read that myself in some review when Rocky V hit the theatres. I looked for a resemblence, of course - couldn't find any. I think young Morrison did good in the movie - not his fault that it was a stinker. The boxing shorts he used in the movie were for sale shortly after that, in a store dealing with original clothing, and even cheap, yet I didn't buy. Because his being the grandnephew of JW really didn't seem to have anything to do with my appreciation for JW himself. Knowing that Wayne produced 7 children and had dozens of grandchildren it might be hard to track the family members down. As for Rocky - I'm really not too curious about any sequel they might come up with. He should hang up his gloves and watch Kirk Douglas in "Champion" instead (just out on DVD) - now THAT'S a boxing movie!
