I know that Wayne Fellowes became Batjac. What does Batjac mean; if anything? Thanks.

:)

Batjac production company became into being May 25, 1954 after the movie, "Wake of the Red Witch" (Duke starring with Gail Russell). In the movie there was a Trading Company called Batjack (ficitious). He linked the film's plot with his own fight with cancer.

:(

The Wayne Fellows partnership was desolved due to the breakup of Bob & Eleanor Fellows, and tying Wayne involed in their case. Duke stood up and knocked down his chair while the couple shouted at each other, and told them that this was not any of his business, and walked out. That was the end of that and the start of Batjac productions.

The suggestion of "Batjac" producitons came from Michael Wayne, but there was a typographical error. The original spelling was "B-A-T-J-A-C-K". The secretary mispelled it, and took out the "K". The papers went to leagal, and when it came back, Duke said he liked the K better but it didn't matter, so they kept it and that is the beginning of Batjac productions.
