To all who may be interested,

CHANCE (our resident artist, aka Graham Leggett) is interested in doing his own rendition of The Magnificent Seven, using members of the John Wayne Message Board, and either having John Wayne be part of the group, or have him looking down over the group from the clouds above.

So . . . I guess this is your personal invitation to be a part of "the seven". Too bad it wasn't the magnificent dozen, but oh, well . . . . Anyway, after having exchanged some PMs with Graham, we came up with this suggested list: Kevin, dukefan1, itdo, Hondo Duke Lane, baron von Rassilon, Chester, and of course, the artist himself, CHANCE. I can think of at least another five to include, but seven is seven. There's also a possibility Graham may be able to incorporate maybe Monique and smokey into the picture in some capacity, but that is still being explored.

So what do you think? Once the painting is done, perhaps a limited run of prints can be made, so we each would have an opportunity to buy the prints, or we could come up with a lump sum initially to cover Graham's time. I'm sure by now, you've all seen some samples of his work. He's GOOD! If he becomes famous someday, suddenly our faces might have collectible value (might even make it to the Louvre ).

If you're interested, let us know, and we'll fine tune everything from there.

Here's a little update to the Magnificent Seven idea. At CHANCE's request, I have e-mailed several people regarding this idea, and so far only two have responded (1 positive, and 1 negative). Since there weren't that many responses, he thought we could offer it to the board membership at large and see what happens.

Even my wife is interested in getting in on this, and thinks the women can be angels with the Duke, looking down on "the Seven" below.

Monique, smokey, what do you think - being angels with the Duke?? :rolleyes:

Hi gang i had to have a rethink and The Duke will have to be one of the seven or i can make him eight and still have 7 members.Duke in the drawing is 2nd from the left but i can put him in the middle and the rest around him.
Dukefan1 has booked his place to the left of the Duke.You'll have to be quick to get the best spaces before they're gone. :D

Did you mention in an earlier post that you had been on holiday at a DHC convention and had taken photos at it which you were going to put onto this messageboard. I was wondering if you have already posted them.

It wasn't really a convention, but an event, in which the DHC gathered (as many as were able) in Tombstone, Arizona to celebrate the Duke's 96th birthday. I was hoping to post some of the pictures on the web, but it has proved to be far more time consuming than I imagined.

I need to get back to that project, thanks for the nudge. It might be a couple more weeks, as I am going away for a few days next week and weekend.

Chester hasn't lost interest, we have been having problems downloading the pictures from the digital camera to the computer. As soon as that's ironed out, we'll get some better, close-up pictures to you.

Hi Chester How's the head.I'm already to go things are a bit slowat the mo. Originally i was going to do the picture 23.5"x 34" but i may have to go for16.5x 23.5 because of printing restrictions . this means your portraits will be smaller and you may have to be squished a little together. I would have preferred to have gone for the bigger size better portrait size.I'm going to have a word with the printer to see if he can come up with summit.
But keep the photo's coming :P
