Something just occurred to me regarding Gary Burghoff's or Coporal Radar O'Reilly's impersonation of John Wayne that he did a couple of times on M*A*S*H.
This was supposed to be the Korean War in the early 50's, and the impersonation was a paraphrasing of the Duke's famous "Somebody oughta belt ya" line from McLintock released in 1963. I guess Radar really could see the future!

They never seemed to know what war they were supposed to be in at times:wink_smile:

Seriously... MASH was at times an anachronism.

I never thought about that, but it is correct!

funny how an actor can seem likeable on screen and off screen be something else. I once heard some negative feedback on working with Julie Andrews, sure let the air out of my sound of music baloon.

I guess Gary outgrew Radar's pants. Looks like success, went to his head. I hate that in a person. I remember the samething could be said about Burt Ward (Robin) in the Batman TV series. Nobody liked Burt but everybody loved Robin.

Great observation, I've heard MASH was full of inaccuracies which doesn't bother me, enjoyed the series very much

I agree, and I thought those two voice clips were great!

Hi all,
I remember seeing the movie onboard an oil
tanker back in the early 70's and enjoyed it.
But didn't watch the TV show that much.
