Well, I saw the John Wayne Centennial holser, authorized by the Wayne Foundation, and crafted by DeSantis holsters. Had to have one. I ordered a few months back, came in yesterday.

Beyond excellent craftsmanship, and outstanding leather quality. I may order another. Mine is #0147 out of 3500.

I imagine you have to rob a bank first. That's gotta cost a pretty penny.

That is an awesome looking rig you have there, Wacco. Thanks for showing it to us. Is that your gun in the holster and is it real?

Yupper, the revolver is mine, and real. I even had the grips made to Wayne's specs.Where I live, EVERYBODY has a real gun, and carries it!

My second one just arrived, # 595 out of 3500.

I'm gonna wear it tomorrow, around town, celebrating National Day Of The Cowboy.

They are about $300 depending where you but it. As far as I know this is another item not made available to collectors outside USA. I don't know if this comes under the same legislation as a replica firearm for the purpose of export.

Yee Haw! Have FUN!!

Your second one is almost a year after your first one. #147 to #595 is not a huge difference - it seems they're not selling too many of them, with 3500 in the series.

For anyone interested, here are some links to the DeSantis site -

Mine arrived on Wednesday. Very nice, I am pleased. It has serial number 662, so sales are not too brisk, even though the Desantis web site shows they are out of stock of all the right-handed ones.

The 25% discounted ones can be found at www.Magnumarms.com (http://www.Magnumarms.com)

The Desantis holster is the same as the Bianchi. I have seen a few of the original Bianchi's around but not in the good condition I am looking for.

I am here at the 26 Bar Ranch looking at one of my Bianchi Gun Belts and Holsters and a New DeSantis John Wayne Gun Belt and Holster !

They are both Fine works of leather but the Bianchi is a Finer Lighter Weight Leather and the Shape of the Two Holster are Not The Same and the Hammer Tie Downs are Not the same, So the Two Rigs are Not The Same !!

Below on the second page is a Story that was in the "Amercan Rifleman Magazine" and it tells the Story about the History of The John Wayne Rig that He used in so many of His later Films and the People That made Them for Him !!!

Thanks Bill, what would we do without your help with these matters. The hammer tie down is also different in both the holsters. I had never noticed the lighter colour until you pointed it out.

I have seen a Bianchi Commemorative still in its box but is a little smaller than I would like it, not that I will ever wear any of them. Although the box is marked 36" I am not sure if that follows the Desantis measuring guidline that means the middle hole is 36" and you have a few inches either side of that. Needless to say the price is fairly high as it is still in its box since 1981. Maybe I will go on bread and cheese for a month and walk to work.

I've been trying to get a hold of Howard at www.Magnumarms.com (http://www.magnumarms.com/) for the last three days, I think he's on vacation. I'm up for buying the holster, looks like a pretty good deal.

I think it is a fair price, and a very nice piece. It comes in a nice box and COA with your name on it, and the belt and holster are wrapped separately in white tissue paper, and they are wrapped up in another piece of white tissue paper with the gold Desantis sticker on it.

A very nice presentation.

The Money Has Been Sent. As per PayPal. Howard said it would take a couple of weeks. I'm looking forward to receiving this holster set, as, I've had the gun to put into it for about two years.

Chester :newyear: . . . and it seems like Christmas, too.

Why not, I'll have to dig out some of my JW outfits (may have to lose some weight), and get it together. Need to be ready for Winterset in May, anyhow.
