Most of us have our own John Wayne video/DVD collection, that includes almost every movie he ever made. On missing movie is "Adventures End". This was released in 1937. I have vague recollections of seeing this, probably as a re-release sometime in the early 40's, but i won't swear to it. Has anyone ever heard of a copy of this movie being available? I have some stills from the movie and it looks like it would be a good one to see. I wonder if somewhere there is a negative lying around that no one has discovered yet. Anyone else have any thoughts on this movie.

The movie "Adventures End", was released Nov 11, 1937. It had a running time of 68 minutes. Dukes co-stars in the film included Diana Gibson, Moroni Olsen, Montague Love, Ben Carter, Maurice Black, George Cleveland, Britt Wood and Glenn Strange (the bartender Sam of Gunsmoke fame).
Duke plays a Pacific isle pearl diver, who ships aboard a whaler. Before the voyage, the captain marries Duke to his daughter as protection against the first mate.
Together they face and survive the perils of a mutiny. I do not know of any versions of this film being available.

" The Quiet Man" just came on, and can you believe it, they just cut out a whole scene. That just ....oh...I can't say it. Why do they do that? It just upsets me so.

Tina,

You must be watching TNT or AMC. When they do that, it just ruins the scene their cutting to or from, and leaves the occasional viewer lost as to what is really meant. I have pretty much quit watching AMC altogether, since they have started time compressing films.
About the only channel I watch to catch a whole movie is TCM!!!!!!!!!

That's probably the best thing to do. I get so irritated when they cut up the Duke's films. They take two and a half hours with commercials to show a movie that's only an hour and a half long , and then they still cut out a bunch of scenes.

What all movies of the Duke are now considered missing?
