Stumpy October 31st, 2008, 08:38 PM I'm gettin' too damned close to those political titles to suit me. Well, in fact, I've already gotten to State Governor, which is a political title. Ugh!!!
I've been trying to delete my account so I can give myself another cyber name and start afresh at zero posts but whenever I click on "delete account" in the User CP, I get the following message:
"Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing.
If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator (http://www.dukewayne.com/sendmessage.php) and describe the action you performed before you received this error."
What exactly is a "security token" and how do I get one?
As y'all know, I ain't in this contest to see who can get the most posts.

Stumpy,
The security token is an error in the board software, so thanks for letting us know about the error.
As for starting all over, I can just zero out your post count (since that doesn't matter to you), without deleting the account.

Sounds like a winner, Kevin. I kinda like my cyber name of Stumpy and would hate to lose it. But zero my post count if you would.
In fact, if you can do it, just leave it at zero permanently. Now as for a title, I wouldn't mind being called a Sheriff or US Marshal but please, nothing political.
arthurarnell November 1st, 2008, 04:15 AM Hi Jim
Sorry about the rankings, put it down to me as I suggested them. It just seemed like a natural progression through the American system.
Just think If I had put our title in Lords Barons Earls Dukes Viscounts and thats without even starting on the Lady's titles.
Regards
Arthur
ethanedwards November 1st, 2008, 04:34 AM Well we've had Town Council, and Territorial Governor
for ages, so it seems a natural progression.

There's nothing wrong with the titles you picked; Art, this is just me being me. It's just that I hate American politicians so much that I don't want to have their cursed titles appended to me.
Hell, I'd rather be called an outlaw than a congressman, senator or one of those other political titles. :no2:

Well, after all, Art, this is a site devoted to John Wayne and the Old West. Westerm titles sound more appropriate than political titles, IMO.

They are catchy, and since John Wayne was as western as you could get they fit right in.
Stumpy November 1st, 2008, 11:34 AM Another idea - we could say that Joe Blow has ????? notches on his gun.

I think I like the idea of being an outlaw. What does the rest of the group think?
Stumpy November 1st, 2008, 09:57 PM I think I like the idea of being an outlaw. What does the rest of the group think?
I'm all for it. In one sense, I've been an outlaw all my life because I've always rebelled against authority. Don't get me wrong; I've never broken any major laws but I just have never liked others telling me what to do. I know that doesn't make much sense coming from someone who made the military a career but I was so good at my job that they let me slide on a lot of stuff. Oh, early in my career I attached my rank chevrons with zippers......

Hey . . . I like that idea!
Big Duke February 3rd, 2010, 01:57 AM This is coming from a pretty new hand at the JWMB. but I have looked, maybe not hard enough. but I as well as some other members probably wonder how you earn your spurs..so to speak. I mean we all start out it looks like as Tenderfoots, and work our way up. but just how many levels are there? and how do you reach each one? Maybe we should have a CheChalker listing for hombres that join but don't come back! Just kidding.
Thank you all for your guidance with me, hope to earn them spurs someday!Kinda like Glen Campbelll said in True Grit. God only gave me two feet. so I can take one step at a time.
arthurarnell February 3rd, 2010, 02:50 AM Hi Big Duke
Like you we all started with the first step so to speak the first posting. Normally you advance with the number of posts you make normally one hundred five hundred a thousand, two thousand four thousand and so on starting at tenderfoot, deputy sheriff marshal depending on the number it all happens automatically and you get congratulated and encouraged as you climb the ladder.
If you look at the listing you will see various clubs 2100 or 4000 club
Depending how much encouragement and effort you put in the more encouragement you get.
This is a very friendly place to be.
Hope this helps
Regards
Arthur

Hi Big Duke,
Thanks for asking.
I have moved your thread across to here,
and at the top of the thread,
you will see our listings.
So your next step, will automatically see you promoted to
Town Citizen... 50
Good luck in climbing the ladder
Popol Vuh February 3rd, 2010, 03:42 PM Hell, I'd rather be called an outlaw than a congressman, senator or one of those other political titles. :no2:
Now I'm confused. I thought outlaw was a term that describes the other titles?
ethanedwards February 3rd, 2010, 05:45 PM Kevin, are the automatic Members Ranking ugrades working
I received this from The Tennessean,
who was a 'Pilgrim' but should now be 'Town Citizen'!
Hey!
When we achieve a new posting milestone (such as I have now @ 53) do we automatically update to the next level?
Kevin February 3rd, 2010, 07:45 PM The board does an hourly update on all stats which include rank changes. I manually ran the update and his account is now updated.
