We wanted to let you know about the upcoming New Year's Day/6th Anniversary Celebration at DukeWayne.com.

The JWMB is the number one stop for John Wayne fans to visit, join, and have fun. We have made many new friends during the last 6 years, and we pride ourselves with having the friendliest JW community online.

This Thursday January 1st, marks a new year and the sixth anniversary of the John Wayne Message Board. We'd like to invite all members to help us kick off the New Year with a big crowd on the message board and in the chat room.

Of course, the chat room will be open all day (everyday), but we are hoping for the biggest crowd between the hours of 5 and 9 PM Eastern Standard Time (GMT -5). So make plans to come by and at least say hello.

Here is the date & time for the 2009 chat (The time could be tweaked if needed)

Thursday, January 1st 2009

Time:
Ben Lomond, California = 2:00pm (local time)
East Coast, N. America = 5pm (local time)
London, United Kingdom = 10pm (local time)(GMT +1 due to daylight saving)
St Petersburg, Russia = 1:00am (local time)
Queensland Australia = 7am (local time), Friday January 2

You can access the chat room from several different points. You can use the link in the "Quick Links" area of the top menu bar, or from the main forum display page.

Or just bookmark this direct url http://www.dukewayne.com/chat/flashchat.php

See you at the original JWMB!

Best Regards

Sounds like a good time. I should be there barring any emergencies or a snow storm which would then have me out riding my snowmobile!!!!!

Thanks for sending the invitation in the e-mail. I noticed I joined the site January 2003 when you first got it up and running. I somehow lost you and was glad to have found you all online with your e-mail. Look forward to chatting.

Just have a minute before heading to town but wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year.

This site will be around as long as there are good people who love the Duke and share his values.

Much love,

Cindy

Whoops - looks like I missed all the fun - I haven't been on the computer for a few days so I didn't get the notice. Next time!

We probably had about a dozen or so members in and out through the day. Our largest 'crowd' was 6 at the same time (you can see that new stat at the bottom of the main forum!), around 7 PM Eastern time (that would have been midnight for Keith).

It's always fun getting to know people in 'real time' and having a conversation with people from around the country and the world. I personally spoke with JWMB members from Canada, Great Britain, and various locations in the US!

Don't forget, the chat room is available 24/7. If you see that someone is online, with whom you'd like to chat, just send them a quick PM to see if they are available.
