Hi everyone,

It has been a while since I have had a chance to get back on, looks like there has been some changes made!

After this weekend, John Wayne day on TCM, I got to thinking, I know watch out!
But I wonder if anyone can answer, how many postions of the military did John Wanye portray? Like being Commander etc. And how many times was he a Commander etc?

My son took the movie with him to college so I can't verify it (I think a few other JW movies disappeared with him too!).

In Cast A Giant Shadow, he was with the U.S. Army, as a liason officer to the Israeli army.

VERY impressive list, baron!

I'm with Hondo, certainly in no position to argue with you on any of it.

Thanks everyone! I was glad to do it. :D I have noticed that he played a Cavalry Officer in more movies than anything else.

I am going to try eventually to post a "John Wayne Fact File For the Extreme JW Fan" filled with information. For example,in all his movies combined, total shots fired by JW, total punches thrown by him, how many times he had been hit by punches. That sort of thing. Then it could be posted here for all to view! The problem is, I don't have all his movies. That and I would need lots of outside help watching his movies to gather such info. :stunned: I dunno, I would have to think about it.
Your opinions??

B) Baron,

We love to have that information. Chester, and I are wroking (alright, we or I haven't done anything yet) to get up a FAQ for newcomers, and us old vetrians, to bypass some of the repeated questions, and some that might be of interest to us big John Wayne fans.

Hope to have your input in this forum we are working on in the near future.

You have a great insight on many things about Duke.

Cheers, Hondo

Wow, that would be quite an undertaking!

Maybe make a list of the movies you DON'T have, and recruit some of us to help you out with it.

I'd be glad to be part of that project!

I tell you what guys, just pick a movie and go at it! Just let us know what movie you are reviewing, after all, this will give you an excuse to watch John Wayne all day! ;)

Also, suggest any info that we might include in the Fact File. I'll start with the recent question about Military. This is strictly volunteer work, ok??

:stunned: <---Chester after an all week John Wayne movie marathon!

Greetings

If we are to do this fact file I would like some help from everyone. Here are a list of questions I wish to have help on. Some questions may sound weird, but this is a fact file for the extreme fan. Kinda like a logistic file. Once we have enough, if there is enough, I will put it on a webpage. Then anyone who has a John Wayne website can have the link to it to use as part of their site. Credit will be given to all who participate in the endevor.

1. How many movies were sports involved, and what sport? I have 3 so far.
football 1, hockey 1 and boxing 1. Any others? Is this info correct sofar?
2. How many movies were westerns?
3. How many movies was he a law enforcement officer? Detective, Sherrif, Ranger, Deputy, FBI, ect. Aslo is it possible to break this down??
4. How many movies was he a bad guy, even if he turned good.
5. How many movies did he get killed or was dead already.
6. How many "different" leading ladies did he have ( Actresses can be counted only once. For instance, O'Hara is counted once regardless of what movie she's in, I want different here).
7. How many times did he get the girl in a movie? (Here you can count an actress
more than once).
8. How many men did Wayne shoot and kill.
9. How many fist fights did JW get into?
10. How many times did JW save someones life?
11. How many times did he lose the girl?

Any takers?? This is volunteer. This is just a start, if any one has a suggestion, please post here to let us know.

Duke didn't get the girl in 'Trouble Along The Way'.

Regarding how many lives Duke saved in his movies thats going to be difficult to define. An example how many did he save by eliminating that two million dollars worth of drugs in 'McQ'.
