Funny you should start this topic. In my part of the world "The Quiet Man" is the most popular movie by far and almost everone has a copy of it on VCR/DVD. I was reading the newspaper today and there was an article in it about how a capaign has started with the idea of to re-releaseing the movie and translateing the English to Irish.

This does have three key problems in my opinion.

1. There is a scene in which Maureen O'hara asks to speak in Irish within the movie how with the address this if they translate the language.

2. It will be difficult to dub the voices accurately enough and dubbing will never have the same effect as the original.

3. The directors intention was to have the movie in English not Irish so what is happening is modern-day tampering.
