Silly question here. Can anyone give me their impressions on this? It doesn't have to be scientific or anything; I'm just curious whether Duke's leading ladies were more often blonde, redhead, or brunette. Humor me. I ask silly questions once in a while.
Keep in mind that I'm a brunette and I'm mighty jealous! :D

hi jen,
well from all of the movies of the dukes that i have watched he has had more dark haired ladies if you can believe some of his old black and white ones but on the other hand he has had a fair smattering of the other colours as well i don't think he had a favourite hair colour just if he liked the person he was working with

Jen,
Going on what smokey said, I have to agree that if he did have a perference, it would be brunettes. He married three of them. He had a wide variety of different haired women, but if you go by his favorite leading lady, it would be a red head. :P
Haven't heard from anyone what color hair he liked on women.
Cheers, Hondo B)

I don't know that he had a preference for hair color, but rather the persona of the woman. His wives were all Latin, and I guess there is something about women of that culture that was appealing to the Duke.
As far as leading ladies, it's pretty safe to say that he had a preference for a particular red-head, Maureen O'Hara, and that affection was mutual.
And maybe, in many cases, especially the earlier years, he had nothing to say about it at all.
I think he was definitely impressed with intelligence in women.
Just my 2 cents . . .

Thanks, everybody. Really I wasn't after what haircolor Duke himself liked. I was more interested in knowing the haircolor of his leading ladies. I guess I'd have to agree with you that more often they seemed to have dark hair than light, but maybe that has something to do with black & white film.
Anyway, just a dumb little question. No big deal either way.
