Does anyone know where I can purchase a vest like the one that he wore in most of his later westerns? Would like the hat as well.

I've been looking for a good vest also, the closest I've found is the one made by "Wahmaker" named the "Duke". It sells for around $ 120.00. I haven't bought one though, as my daughter bought me another brand, "Scully", for Christmas. It's pretty close, but doesn't have the tan canvas back.

I've looked and looked for hats simular to the "Duke's", only to realize that in just about every movie, he had a different one. I've been to a couple of dozen western stores looking for one similar, to no avail. I've looked on the internet at around a dozen sites, but only a few sell a hat called "The Duke". While it looks similar, I haven't found the movie it is from. I've finally came to the realization I would have to have one made at a hat company. AzTex Hats in Phoenix, Arizona, is the company that has impressed me the most so far, and they are currently making me two hats, one like JW wore inThe Cowboy's and one from The Shootist. If you go to the thread "Picture Bonanza" and scroll thru the more than 1250 pictures you'll start to get an idea which hats came from which movies. I sent several of those picture's to the hat maker as a reference.

Hey, thanks for showing us Tonto Rims web site! That's the first time I've actually seen more than one style of John Wayne's hats at any one web site. Their prices weren't bad either, for the products they offer. I don't know how I missed it when I was searching for these items previously.

Hi Chester it's a good site they have a good priced John Wayne gunbelt it's either $160 or $190.There are a couple of hats i'm interested in too.But i think there a bit pricey for me .
i'll keep my eyes open for more sites.
