It seems that the mag 7 painting bogged down in the mud. I was anxious to see myself in a picture with John Wayne, so I commisioned CHANCE to do a painting of me with Duke. I was NOT disappointed!!! Take a look at this!!!!

Man, he got me down to a tee! And as for Duke? NAILED HIM! Is this an awesome painting? I admire great artwork, I always have. CHANCE is truly an artist, and I really enjoy his work. As I've said before, I think he paints a much better John Wayne than Pilar. She's a good artist in her own right, but she doesn't capture the Duke like CHANCE does.

Jen, there was talk of doing a female version of the Magnificent Seven, but I don't know if there were actually enough women to make that happen. Maybe something different, with the gals - maybe a take-off of Charlie's Angels, but it could be Duke's Angels - what do you think??

I don't mind being depicted in western gear a la Andie McDowell but I want to look halfway feminine, you know, as I admire the studly hunk of he-man flesh. :P In my opinion, I don't see the picture as being any sort of tough feminist thing. On the other hand, it doesn't need to be racy and salacious either. I don't think we want to be in frilly pantalets and a bustier and whatnot. :o I picture it more as Duke sitting around with some of his favorite ladyfriends and having a nice time and a few laughs. But that's just my opinion - I'm curious to see what some of the other girls think.

I'm going to have to really try and get my hands on a digital camera. Thing is, I'm sort of embarrassed to tell anyone what the pictures are for, so I might have to take them myself, in a mirror. "Self, say cheese!" :D

well i have to say that being in my undies is not appealing no matter what they look like, and frills yuk i am strickly an every day shorts and t girl myself dressing up is for going out so i would prefer to be dressed in pants and shirt. we could be like you said be sitting around flapping our gums (chewing the fat, chatting) knocking back a few bundies (a type of rum out here), or coldies (what we call beer), just having a good time.

well mr c may need to have a bonk on the head because he forgot the better half mrs c.

I'm just a little shy, so didn't push anything, but I would love to be in a picture with you ladies and the Duke.

I'm with both of you, in that I definitely would NOT want to be sitting around in scanty clothing. Jeans, a cool western shirt I would not otherwise be able to afford, a real nice pair of boots (also beyond my budget), . . . I could handle that. Being part of a group of women who adore the Duke, actually getting to sit around with him up close and personal - YEAH!

We'd have quite an ensemble on our wall of incredible artwork!

I guess I'll have to get the ol' digital camera warmed up and running . . . .

After all, you're the artist to whom we are extremely grateful! :) I think I can borrow a digital camera from the tech department at my work so I hope to have some pictures for you early next week.

Do you gals have any opinions about how we want the fella in the painting to look? I guess what I'm asking is if we want him to look more like Ringo or Rooster. Or something in between? I'm willing to give my opinion, strong-minded lady that I am (wink to Chance), but I'll wait to see what you think first. Maybe it doesn't matter very much!

I think i have the idea the gals sitting around with the duke having a relaxing chat a laugh and drink or two.I have a few ideas floating about in my head when i can i'll put it down on paper and post it. Hi Smokey jen and Mrs C i have found a picture of the Duke from North to Alaska where he is sitting with with a bunch of ladies.One is sittng on his knee there is a one to the left of him with sitting on something can't quite tell with her foot on the table and one in front of him sitting on a chair with one foot on a chair next to her.The quality isn't very good the women are wearing dresses but with a little tweaking i could use this.You can only see the top half of the Duke.Is this the sort of thing your after.Let me know.

What kind of an expression are we supposed to wear in the photo? If I smile, does that mean you have to paint me with a smile? It doesn't really matter to me what expression I have - whichever you think looks best in the painting. I just want to make sure I do the photos right, and I hope to be doing them either today or tomorrow.

The North to Alaska idea sounds good to me.

chance means 3/4 shot of you sort of looking just to the left or right of the camera like they do in professional shoots. hope this helps you out

Hi Jen ,Smokeys right on the button,The Fantastic picture you posted of the young Duke is the right position. So if you can take several pictures of yourself including 3/4 left side and right side soi can position it on the painting.You can have any expressin you want in your portrait doesn't really matter but a nice smile or a thoughtfull look would be great.What ever you feel comfortable in doing that goes for the rest of you ladies and smokey i will dress as you wish with a nice pair of jeans boots and shirts is it ok if i put bandanas around your necks.I take it there will only be 3 ladies.A middle aged Duke is what we're going for.Don't forget to give me your eye and hair colour.

Well, I suspect I'm the "oldster" in this group of gals, so I'd go for the middle-aged Duke, as I don't think I want to be drooling on someone who looks young enough to be my son - ick :stunned: ! Certainly, we all should look like we're having a good time in each other's company :D .

I like the jeans, shirt, and boots (maybe I'll "window-shop" on the 'net for a shirt!). The bandana around the neck sounds ok to me, CHANCE.
