My husband is a BIG fan, Has every western. That is all he likes of the Duke. Does anyone know who the tan coat he wears is made by or where I might find one like it?

I think one of our members, itdo, mentioned a while back that Duke wore the same clothes over and over again quite often. I imagine that a lot of them were custom made for him at the time.

Are you talking about the tan coat he wears in Rio Bravo? That reminds me a little bit of some coats I've seen from Carhartt, though if you found one that would be similar it would have the Carhartt logo on it.

Have no idea who would be making coats just like that
but it's true Wayne used the same coat in several movies (there were several coats made looking the same) and he used them over and over again, like in True Grit, Train Robbers etc, from that working period, until they were worn out or had to be destroyed (like one on Big Jake and one on Cahill).

The one surviving piece is at Planet Hollywood (don't know which one though); a very good friend of mine found it for them.

Hi, i am new to the board and have also been looking for a short duster such as the Duke wore. The closest I have found is the Rio Bravo coat available from River Junction Trade Co. It is not an exact replica, but is as close as I have found. If anyone out there has found a better one please let me know. Thanks
