I would like to see a page for people to post pictures of John Wayne. Any and all pics people can find from websites, books they have or other sources. I search the internet high and low for pics and thought it would be nice to have ONE place I could go to find all sorts of pics.
They could be thumbnails to take up less space. Im not sure how or if it could be done tho.

That sounds like a great idea. Other John Wayne boards have picture galleries, so I don't see why we couldn't too. Of course, I don't know what kind of work we may be proposing for Kevin, our illustrious administrator . . . so we'll leave that decision up to him.

Sounds like a good suggestion although the more pictures there are the more it may slow down accessing them however Kevin may be able to get around this.

I like the idea, but the issue that I face is server resources. If we start hosting images of the Duke then that will increase the amount of disk space required, plus it will increase sharply the amount of bandwidth that the site uses.

Yea I was wondering about the space and what not for it. Like for your signature, you can put a link in there for the pic you want, that is posted somewhere else, and that will make the pic show up, so I was thinking maybe something could be done along those lines.
Like myself, my ISP give's me 10 MB of website spave , which I dont use, and maybe there are others here that have similar space available.
I think there would have to a moderator or two for this , someone you would submit pic's to and he would try to make sure there are no duplicates, thus no wasting of space.
There is also one or more place's that will give you free space for pics just for this very thing.
In another forum I belonged too, they had a separate heading for pictures and such. It was a WWII thing, so you could do a report on some topic pertaining to WWII and post it along with pics for the story. It was very interesting.
The only pics I could get would be from research on the web, but I would enjoy doing that myself. I also would be interested in seeing pics and storie's from people that have books about JW. My guess would be that between all the members here we would probably have all of the books written on him, and this would be a great way to share the wealth of knowledge.
Im just not computer literate enough to know the best way to set it up. I know for a game server you pay more money per month for the number of players the server would allow to be playing at one time, but dont know how this has to be payed for, or how bandwidth pertains to it really.
