To anyone who can help.

I recently acquired a 1936 london taxi from a location in Prescott, Arizona. The taxi had been stored in a barn there for many years. I have been told by several contacts in England that in point of fact John Wayne owned a london taxi and that the cab I have rescued (and subsequently have restored) may indeed be his original cab. Mind you, this is a very rare car and is thought to be the only one in North America. My question: Can anyone help with information on how I can substantiate this? Did the car have Arizona license plates on it, and did you get any kind of registration with it? If so, there's a chance you could go through the Arizona DMV, if their records go back that far. The states differ in what they can do for you, so it might be worth checking, if you haven't already.

In this day of wall to wall terrorists, sometimes that information is harder to get from the state than it used to be.
