With the exception of this site I have not found a single other site relating to John Wayne which gives a good reflection of him. They are either saturated with bad links or tacky pictures etc or there is some idiot dressed up as John Wayne which is unfunny and an insult. Does anybody out there know of any good John Wayne sites if so what are the addresses. Legends such as Clint Eastwood and Elvis have great sites dedicated to them so should the Duke does anybody agree?

Robbie,

You should check out one of the newest threads. Big Jake seems to be in major agreement with you.

Robbie, I have my own tribute site and hope that you havn't added it to your list of list of bad ones. Even though I run my own site, I visit Kevin's everyday because his is the best out there. But if you would like to see mine, go to http://www.dukelestweforget.com and see for yourself. I hope you won't be dissapointed. I do hessitate to put my addy on other tribute sites for fear of looking like a poacher of fans, but many are like me and visit many sites that are on my favorite list. I hope Kevin doesn't mind my doing so here. dukefan1

dukefan1,

I, for one, hope that Kevin doesn't mind, because I checked out your site, and think it's great! I especially like the frames format, and all the interesting areas you have there. My wife got a real kick reading the Mad magazine parody of True Grit (True Fat :D ).

I hope that if other members of this group have web sites, they will post the URL so we can check them out. We really enjoyed yours, and bookmarked it, because there's more there than anyone could do in a day, or a week, or . . .

Thanks for sharing!

Chester

Hey, as long as we are on the subject, I just want to add that if you click on JWayne.com above, you will also be in an excellent site dedicated to John Wayne. It's right there, but how many people have actually checked it out? If you haven't, you really should.

Kevin has worked real hard and done an excellent job, IMHO  .

By the bye,

Chester

P.S. . . . and no, I was not paid to say this! ;)

Sorry Dukefan

I was unaware of yor web site when I made my comments I was looking through it and quite frankly its excellent and I am not just saying that as I am a person who speaks their mind. I probably should retract my statement as I have recently found a number of decent web sites about the Duke.

I have one request though Duke fan if you could, would you put onto your web site the full interview that Duke gave to Playboy as I found this very interesting.
I agree with Chester 100% relating to True Fat it was great and I was very impressed to discover a large number of pictures of the Duke from throughout his career.
If anyone else has any or knows of any other good web sites related to the Duke, put the addresses on this page provided that Kevin agrees to it.
I would also just like to echo Chesters views and say that this is a great web site and Kevin has done a great job building and maintaining it.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. This is what I love about the internet. It gave all us fans a forum to share our passion. Befor the internet, how many Duke fans were in your vacinity? Not many in mine. Now we get the pleasure of sharing our interest every day. Long live The Duke! dukefan1

Well, I have no problems at all with people posting other Duke websites here. The internet is big enough for everyone!

And thanks everyone for the kind words about the site, I do appreciate it. :D

Kevin

Ps. Also, thank you REASR, and LibertyV for helping as moderators.

This here is the unofficial John Wayne web site but does anyone know what the address for the official one is, if there is an official one at all.

Personally, I think ours is the most official one around, even if it is called the UN-official John Wayne site.

Seriously, Robbie, do a search on Google for an Official site. I haven't found one yet. I've seen plenty, and none measure up to the status of "Official".
