Here is the DukeWayne.com 2012 John Wayne Movie Poll. After long last we have your results with some surprises. 19 of us make our list and we crown a repeat leader again, but we see some interesting results.

Wonderful Job Hondo. Thanks so much for your hard work. Wish we had got more participants, but 19 is more than I was expecting!

Now, I wonder how many character actors were co stars in the most of these? I know that Ward was in SIX and would have been in Stagecoach if he had known how to drive a Six up, LOL, (saw an interview with Pappy Ford where he said so himself). I THINK that was all he was in. Since 9 were in the 60s and a few more in the 70s and Ward died in 1960, and he was in the first top 3, looks to me like the team of Wayne and Bond was a pretty darn good one both off screen and on. Sorry, had to put a plug in for MY GUY! Sure wish he had lasted until at least Duke's age. He died at 57 and was four years older than Duke and 4 years younger than Pappy...I wonder how many more great movies they could have made together? Well, that we will never know.
I can sure think of some parts he could have played rather than others. There was just a very special chemistry between them on stage.....you could almost feel it.

No, I was wondering if any after Stagecoach did not get any votes. Now That I have had time to look a little closer I see my answer is yes. I don't see Undefeated, Circus World, Without Reservations, Dakota, Legend of the Lost or Big Jim McClain on the list. There may be more. With 69 movies getting votes I was just interested in how many of the "newer" ones didn't get a single vote. Never mind

I did mention Tycoon and The Undefeated at the beginning of the thread. And there are others out there after Stagecoach. There are so many that did not get on one's list.

All movies in 1939 and the 70's were listed on the polls.

The 60's had The Longest Day, How the West was Won, Circus World, The Greatest Story Ever Told, Cast a Giant Shadow and The Undefeated that were not on anyone's poll.

The 50's had Big Jim McLain, Legend of the Lost, I Married a Woman and The Barbarian and the Geisha.

The 40's had Three Face West, A Man Betrayed, Lady From Louisana, Lady for a Night, In Old California, Reunion in France, Lady Takes a Chance, War of the Wildcats, Flame of Barbary Cost, Dakota, Without Reservations and Tycoon.

That is a lot of John Wayne movies that were not on anyone's poll. A lot of the 40's list have not been released on DVD, so I can understand why they were not mentioned. Circus World is another movie never released on DVD in the USA. I Married a Woman is not a Duke movie but he makes a cameo appearance in the movie and it has never been released on DVD in the USA. I have only seen the clip of Duke from that movie and that is all. Cancel My Reservations (1972) a Bob Hope movie has Duke in an uncredited cameo part in the movie which hasn't been (to my knowledge) released on DVD in the USA, and this movie is not listed on John Wayne's Complete Films.

From my count that is 22 movies that did not make anyone's list on this poll. That is the complete list that I found that I hope answers your question.
