Harris Poll for the year 2005 compiled in December of 2004 shows John Wayne coming in at number7 ahead of Clint Eastwood whom was in 8th position.

John Wayne is the only star whom has ever made it onto the top ten list after death but its the consistency at which he has made it onto the top ten list he was to my knowledge number one in 1995 and has held the 2nd position quite a few times as well. It is astonishing that 25 years after his death and 28 years since he last made a movie that he is still so highly thought of by many. I am very impressed and I hope this trend will continue for many years to come.

    Regards
    Robbie

Hi Robbie, when he was alive, he was in the top 10 for 20 years. Just goes to show you that more and more people are facing the fact that John Wayne is THE BEST, out there. I for one will never be able to place him in anything but first place--in my book.

IMO, NONE of the new age H-wood actors out there can come anywhere near to what John Wayne is to me. The closest I can think of IMO that can even think of beginning to compare are: Mel Gibson, Tom Hanks and MAYBE Harrison Ford.

Just my humble opinions though. TRK.

Great choice Jay. I have followed Bruce Willis since his TV days. The last I saw with him in it was when he was in Hart's War, which was brilliently done.

The Whole Ten Yards was a turd!! Stay away from it. Tears of the Sun was ok. The last good movie I saw Bruce Willis in was Armageddon and even that was shaky at times. The Whole Nine Yards was actually really funny. I think he has lost some of his appeal in the recent years.

The Die Hard series I think was his best. I hadn't heard anything about a 4th movie though. What have you heard?

I have not heard him wanting to do a 4th DH movie but, I have heard that he was slated to play Sergeant Rock in a movie about that DC comicbook series.

If you go to Die Hard 4 you will see that there is the preproduction of the movie with filming starting in the summer of 2005. I know that things could change, but there is talk of this.

    TRK,

There is no listing of Willis playing Sergeant Rock in any movie announced.

    He is playing in:

    Die Hard 4.0 (2006) (pre-production) .... John McClane
Over the Hedge (2006) (filming) (voice) .... RJ
Lucky Number Slevin (2005) (filming) .... Mr. Goodkat
    Alpha Dog (2005) (post-production) .... Sonny Truelove
    Sin City (2005) (post-production) .... John Hartigan
Hostage (2005) (completed) .... Jeff Talley

    Cheers B)

Hi Hondo, thanks for all this info. On his playing Sgt. Rock, I think it's only been a rumor since about 1988 or so. I wish he would have played him becuase I do think he'd make a great Sgt. Rock. I don't remember exactly where I first heard this though but it might have been in some comic book fanzine or in Starlog or something like that. :)
