Hello Gang. Many of you may remember that I had a site a year or so ago about John Wayne. I closed it down for various reasons and hadn't messed around with the thought of another untill now. I have a new site up and running and would like to invite you all over to take a look. I have articles from magazines, a list of my book collection and best of all...audio files from Duke movies. Some I gathered from the web and others I made myself. I'd also like to know if anyone has an article about John Wayne from a magazine and would like to have it put on my site, or audio files I might not have, feel free to let me know and I will add them and give you mention on the page. Well, mosey on over to www.alljohnwayne.com and have a look see. I don't have a message board (who wants to compete with this one?), I linked to this board. Hope you all like what you see! Dukefan1

Hey, that's a great site! I especially like your book section. Didn't know that there was a novelization by James Warner Bellah on "Liberty Valance", I only know the original short story.

    dukefan1,

Great comback. I'll spend more time, but what I saw was great. Glad to have you back, and thanks for a link to this message board.

    Cheers B)

    dukefan1,

    YEE HAW!!

We are so glad you have a web site again! Like Hondo, we don't have time to explore as much as we'd like, being that it's almost midnight, but you can bet we'll be back tomorrow! :D

The book section is amazing. How long have you been collecting those? Did you have a hard time finding some of them? I would love to hear more about how you amassed that collection.

Thanks for the kind words! It means alot to hear that from this group of fans. My book collection started about 4 years ago. I got most of them off ebay and some from dear friends. I think it is cool to see the difference between some of the books and how they were made into movies. Some follow pretty close, and some are way different. I will continue to slowly add to the site as I can, so stop in now and then. Sorry it took so long to reply, I couldn't get into this site for 3 days now! I see others have also. Hope that is over soon. Once again, thanks for the kind words!! Dukefan1

love for you to be more specific about which movies slide away from the books. I see a whole new hobby for me, reading the books of the movies I have loved for so long.

Man, took me over a day to get back in here. I hope the board troubles clear up soon. In answer to your question, Mrs. McLintock, I have been collecting the books for about 4 or 5 years now. I love seeing the differences between the film and book. IN the book Shepherd of the Hills , The characters are all there, but they are different in some ways. Aunt Molly is a sweet woman and the Shepherd isn't Duke's father as he is in the movie. But the story is similar. Now, the book The Stars and their Courses (El Dorado), There is very little resemblance with the film. The names are different and the story line also. Just rare instances do you see the connection. The Green Berets is a collection of short stories but you can pick out the ones they included in the movie. Some movies follow the books very closely, some not so close. Either way, I enjoy reading them. I think you would enjoy collecting and reading them as I have. The web makes collecting so easy, just gotta watch that budget! Dukefan1

Hi DukeFan, I just visited your site and found it excellent. I read the articles which I thought was a nice touch as well as played many of the Audios. Thanks for having the site. TRK.
