    I watched The Green Berets yesterday (more of that later) and got in the mood to watch Wayne's TV special "Vietnam - No Substitute for Victory".
    Wayne's speeches were filmed in his own office. What I found interesting, if you look at the background closely - since he wasn't a catholic - is that among his other displays like Remington busts and trophies like the Oscar he had a large Jesus Christ mask on his wall, as well as a holy cross.

    Good eye, itdo!

    I've watched this movie several times, and never even gave a thought to its location (maybe there is a shot of the dest - is there a letter opener there . . . ?). This gives us an idea that you could have this on a big screen high definition TV, and glean other information by pausing and "exploring" with a big magnifying glass.

    Seriously, perhaps Pilar had some influence on the decoration of his office, and she was definitely Catholic. Those items would be common in a Catholic home (or office). I'm sure she would want him to come around to that way of thinking.

    We'll have to dig out that DVD and watch it again from a different perspective this time.

    I read in Pilar's book that she became a member of anothe religon. The name escapes me right now. I want to say Christian Science but I'm not sure on that.

    I just found it interesting because she stopped smoking and drinking as a part of her new faith. Duke was really upset about it.

    At my first glance he seemed to be completely against organized relgion but I've seen more and more quotes that express his faith.

    Angel;

    I put this up once before but you might have not seen it . Duke did quit Smoking and Drinking but only one or two years before his passing! Yes Duke did have Christian thing in His Den Office that was at his house in Newport Beach. And yes Duke did not care for Organized Religion for most of his life but did change just a short time before He pass on. You can go to this Site for more Info. DUKE THE CHRISTIAN
