    Thumbs up

For years and years, we Duke fans have been chomping at the bit wanting to know when The High and the Mighty and Island in the Sky will be released.

Now what are we going to look forward to since they are being released?

And what will all the "rip off" video purveyors do now?? What will they do?

    Chester

I guess you'll just have to watch them. :)

Besides there are still a few left from before 1939 so I guess you can build up expectations of how good they are.

I haven't solved the problem with the "rip off" video purveyors. I don't know how I will be able to sleep in the near future when I think about the suffering they are experiencing.

I hope this answered some of your questions Chester. :

That's very true. I'm not sure who owns the rights to the 6 Universal action films he made during 1936 - 37, but it sure would be nice to have them released onto DVD one day!

I don't care much for Ted Turner either but, through them some good Errol Flynn stuff has been released - which I still need to get. I think also through them they released Gunga Din and Destination Tokyo (two of my favorite Cary Grant movies.

I sure hope they have something special planned for Allegheny Uprising, Fort Apache and Hondo.

You can count on all the major studio John Wayne movies being released on DVD within the next 5 years. There's too much money to be made for them not to release them.

And since there are plenty more that aren't out on DVD yet we've all still got a lot to look forward to!

(And I'm sure that Universal still owns the rights to the movies that John Wayne did for them back in the 30's. The question is what condition are they in? Good enough to release on DVD? I hope so...)

The fight will begin as to what is next for release.

    Will it be Fort Apache?

Or maybe the official release of McLintock!

Still could it be 3 Godfathers?

    How about Hondo?

    Maybe still why not Pittsburgh?

Then again I bet it could be Allegheny Uprising!

Don't count out Trouble Alone the Way

And last but not least Reunion in France

Of course all of these films are out on VHS, but we want our DVD! (you know the old MTV logos). :

And I know there are many others but this is a start. I think Stumpy wants Fort Apache. We'll have to wait and see, but what a potential discussion.

By the way, Viper, I still don't believe The High & The Mighty is coming out. I still don't have my copies in my hands! :

    Cheers B)

Hey, we could have some kind of "pool" - you know, like they have for some big sporting event, and anyone interested could bet their favorite movie would be the next DVD release, and to get in on the pool, you have to throw in a designated amount of money. Like $100. And we could send the hundred to Chilibill to hold ;) , and the winner gets to go down to Sedona and try to find him, to claim the pool :D .

    What do you think?

If you like to gamble and have a $100 to spend you might like to take a look at this.

    ebay item

Some interesting movies in here. Even "The Oregon Trail". Well it says "The Oregan Trail". Probably something else, but maybe some of you have opinions about that.

    Hi

I would be suspicious of the Oregon Trail there were three made one with John Wayne two without I would think that copy on sale is one of the two without.

It is interesting that when mentioning the Universal films of the late 1930s Adventure's End still hasn't surfaced. I still firmly believe that this is another 'Lost' John Wayne film.

    Hi Arthur.

I have a confession to make. I remember you posting you had a very big colection of movies. I had quite a search for movies here yesterday and I used your list of missing movies as sort of a reference to movies that might be very difficult to get. Apart from "The Oregon Trail" there were a few more that are pretty rare. I don't know how many of these you have now, but these are also in this collection:

    ROUGH ROMANCE
    WORDS OF MUSIC
    MAKER OF MEN
    VOICE OF HOLLYWOOD #13
    LADY AND GENT
    SPEAKEASY
    MOTHER MACHREE
    NOAH'S ARK
    THREE GIRLS LOST

Seems this person has been pretty serious about his collection. I'm not saying you are wrong about "The Oregon Trail" though. I was just wondering if anyone can see any possibility of there being a copy of this movie out there?

    Regards

    Hi Chester

There is still plenty to do for instance those missing John Wayne movies of the 1930's, it would be nice to see them found and released on DVD, what is the actual list of missing John Wayne movies.

    Regards
    Robbie
