James Stewart's character is also rather introverted and rarely let's people in rather than Brennan which is quite similar to the character of George, although I admit Brennan's character doesn't really bear any resemblance to Lenny. I guess it just reminded me because of the idea of two people who only really have nothing but each other and only wish to live the simple life together.
Thanks Irish Duke. Maybe my old English Lit isn't quite as rusty as I thought. Although, I DID have to think a bit to remember Of Mice and Men.....Long time ago, LOL. Thanks again, KPKEITH

High Noon, 60th anniversary Blu ray.
Still as good as it ever was and looking fantastic on the Olive Films Blu ray release.

Hondo with John Wayne and Geraldine Page. I really like the movie. A great story.

    Duel in the Sun.
Epic in every aspect of the word, OTT 'acting' by Jennifer Jones, but such a majestic sweep you can kind of look past that. Joseph Cotten on form as usual and Gregory Peck was solid. Great for a Sunday afternoon.

Never heard of that movie. But, with what you have written about it, I have put it on my list. Thanks for telling us something about it!

Jeez! It was the film Selznick made after Gone with the Wind!
    Totally over-the-top but very enjoyable.

Not sure if I should post this in this thread or the other one but I finally watched The Alamo yesterday. Was a fantastic epic, the thing that stood out for me was the great quality of acting and touching scenes, at points was abit of a tear jerker even. Think this was arguably Duke's finest acting performance up there with Rio Bravo and The Searchers, he really kicked it up a notch in this one.
