How many films did John Wayne appear in where he spanked a women? Would they be allowed to make such movies today?

To my knowledge, only in Donovan's Reef and McLintock.
As for if that would be considered funny today, I guess it would all depend on the context. Slapstick comedy will never go out of style, but it's usually modified to comply with the times.
I thought "The quite man" for a sec, but he only kicked her in the butt and got "a nice stick to beat the lovely lady with." ... I can't think of any others either...
You can roll a turd in powdered sugar but that doesn’t make it a doughnut.
Hi
I think you're right with Donovabn's reef and McLintock.
In the Quiet Man he did get to Kick Maureen O'hara and drag her through a field full of sheep mess.
In general he was a gentleman with his woman on screen although in his early days he did like to see women humiliated by putting them on a horse in his westerns. But again most of that was just horsing around and not to malicious.

Not this time, he spank her once when they were sitting in rose garden and decide to go to town and she runs to change her shoes.

He knocked a girl out in the Horse Soliers, threw one into a tent in Legend of the lost and slapped Susan Hayward in the Conqueror.

If there were beating scenes in a movie made these days I would it that it would be frowned upon
However, as the JW movies were made some time ago, I think it generally goes un-noticed
