'Quiet Man’ beauty Maureen O’Hara returns to Cong village

90-year-old actress will launch the inaugural ‘Quiet Man’ Festival
Irish Hollywood legend Maureen O’Hara is making plans to return to the village of Cong, County Mayo, 60 years after she filmed “The Quiet Man” alongside John Wayne in the same location. On August 26, she will launch the first ‘Quiet Man’ Festival.

O’Hara played the iconic role of Mary Kate Danaher in the 1950s smash-hit movie and this year marks the movie’s 60th anniversary.

Over the last 60 years Maureen O’Hara’s iconic movie has brought millions of tourists to the village of Cong and its environs eager to see where the movie was shot.

    Interesting link !

I like "The Quiet Man", but other movies Maureen are also interesting, especially the adventure movies...

What a pity that a director him has not given deeper roles. She had the temperament to play the characters even more subtle...

With kind permission of photographerGary McEwan

If you look in the background you can see one of the female crew
with the coat over her shoulders no doubt ready to pass to Maureen once the scene was shot.

Is this Maureen or her Irish stand-in Etta??
or is it Maureen, our friends in Ireland are also unsure

    Personally I think it's Maureen

Personally, I have no doubt. Maureen is in the filming of "The Quiet Man". You know, when she keeps her sheep ...

    Same dress, same apron ...

    Wonderful documents. thank you
