  • Wifrid Lawson, made 2 memorable films with Duke,

The Long Voyage Home (1940) .... Captain
Allegheny Uprising (1939) .... 'Mac' MacDougall

Wifrid Lawson, is one of my favourite charcter actors.
He had an unusual voice and mannerisms, which I find fascinating.
His persona, and unusual style, particularly noticeable
in the 2 movies he made with Duke.

  • I had never heard of Wilfred Lawson until I saw him when I first saw: Allegheny Uprising. I can say that for me, he was instantly likable. He sure had such an easily recognized voice.
