Favourite aspects of the new board.

The reason I have started this thread is to allow members to post their favourite features of the new board with the aim of possibly informing other members who may not have been aware of these features to avail of them and ultimately improve their overall use and experience of the board.

One that I particulary like is the little message which informs me as to how many posts have been made on the board since my last visit.

Thanks, Robbie, for starting this thread and pointing out the item you did. I hadn't noticed that yet.

I like the "Quick Links" at the top, with the drop down menu. I especially like the link to "Today's Posts" which shows all posts today.

I like the ease of the "quick reply" and the activity/longevity/today/posts bars that are on each of our posts/profiles.

I do miss the "mark posts read" option from the old board. It might be on this one as well but I haven't found it yet.

Visit the thread display page http://www.dukewayne.com/forumdisplay.php?f=9 and you'll notice the little paper clip over next of the thread titles. This tells you that that thread has an attachment include in it. Also, this same area will display icons to show you the rating stars, a pinned topic, and a subscribe icon (if you are subscribed to that thread).

Using the same "Quick Links" I mentioned earlier, there is an option there to "Mark Forums Read". It's not quite the same, but maybe it'll help.

The more I am on this new board the more I am begining to enjoy it. As of late I have started to avail of the 'Quick Reply' section which is extremely effective, are there any limitations over replying using 'Quick Reply' over the 'Post Reply' facility.

Under the 'Quick Links' section one can hit new posts and those headings in bold represent new posts/threads that have been added since an individual members last visit to the board, I think this is a great feature.

The only limitations is less options, or a more stripped down entry form. I usually use the reply with quote option found on the lower right section of the post window to reply to a particular post.

No favorite feature picked out yet as I am learning to navigate this new look and learn what is where. I have to say that the site looks great but, I miss those lines that went down the paged--kinda reminded me of a wooden fence. This is my first attempt at using the quick reply so please bear with me if I double post or make a mess of it.

Thats a nice nod to the old board, I must say that I am very much impressed by this new board and a great deal of credit is due to you.

In the future as it is not urgent by any stretch of the imagination could you update the banner possibly making it more visually appealing.
