Thank you, Jim and Sue, for that great video. We've had Mustangs flying around here from time to time; boy, did they make a racket! BTW - Test pilot Chuck Yeager was one of those Mustang pilots who did combat in Germany during WWII.
    Cheers - Jay

Another piece of aviation history, kind of reminds me of ChiliBill's story of ditching a plane he was flying... only this one was over water . . . Click on the youtube to read the story, or, open to full screen.

Here You can find great picture galleries about the last piggyback rides and the retirement of the American Space Shuttles:

    http://www.collectspace.com/shuttles/

Discovery is now at the Smithsonian Museum, Enterprise has reached her new destination in the Air and Sea Museum on the old WWII aircraft carrier Intrepid, Endeavour will go to the California Science Museum this fall and Atlantis is prepared for display at KSC. - The whole Shuttle Program was breathtaking, although I grew up with the Apollo Program and the flights to the moon. If I were in the US, I would go to one of the museums, to see the Space Shuttle!

I feel, itīs a shame, that the gouvernment did not give NASA enough money to start a new great space program. For the first time in Americaīs spaceflight history there is no clear direction where to go...

Now that you have had a flight in the Old American T - 33 fighter jet, how about a flight in the Newer Russian L - 39 fighter jet, here in "JOHN WAYNE COUNTRY" ?

Re: Hubble's Top Ten space photographs and other aviation stories

    Hi All,
Friday the Space Shuttle, Endeavour flew around California before landing in Los Angeles. It flew over where I work at San Francisco International Airport, then south over Silicon Valley, then headed over to the coast, where my family was able to watch it flying over the beach heading for Monterey, Ca.
It was flying at around 1500 feet, so was easy to see and very impressive.
It eventually got down to LA and landed there, as this YouTube shows.
